If I could give ten stars it still wouldn't be enough. I've been coming to Lupitas for over a decade and can't believe its taken me this long to leave a review. I was turned onto Lupitas by recommendation while posting about my journey through the QC trying to find the best carnitas in the city. Let me tell you... that was the best recommendation I've ever received and Lupitas has become a regular part of my weekly rotation, celebrations, etc.. Don't walk in thinking its a restaurant bc its not, its where you go to get the best carnitas + tortillas + salsa in the city then you head home to assemble and enjoy. The service is always welcoming / inviting whether you speak spanish or english. Grab yourself a few pounds of carnitas (meat only), a couple pounds of tortillas, then some cilantro + onions and some verde salsa at the register. Take that home and enjoy the best carnitas tacos of your life and then enjoy the leftovers as carnitas + eggs the following morning and keep enjoying the carnitas...

The carnitas are some of the best I’ve ever had in Charlotte, perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy. Their freshly made tortillas are soft, warm, and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the wide selection of mexican sodas, candies, and snacks and cheeses, a great touch of authenticity. Arrived here at 8:50am one morning. The cashier had me wait in the burning sun to open the door, since their business hours are 9-8. One week later I arrived here at 7:52pm and they have locked the doors and are not allowing customers in.
