You walk in and it's a bit dark, and you sit down and listen to the muzak and it's really just background noise. Sit down at a nice table and order your food. We had some egg rolls (some of the best I've ever had), pho, and a noodle bowl (bun). The beef in the noodle bowl was excellent and wifey loved the pho. Honestly, everything was great. Service staff mostly left us to our meals, which I liked, but then after a while I just felt like we were neglected.
The main problem I had was, and perhaps this is a bit superficial and beyond the restaurant's ability to remedy, but the ceiling tile looked like it had seen a lifetime of neglected roof leaks, and the bathrooms looked like they'd been recently recovered from their watery grave after a few decades. Not in a cool way. I had a lot of time to stare at the ceilings. We were there well after the lunch rush and the staff wasn't doing anything, and probably didn't want to bother us too much... but I dunno. I sat there for ten minutes waiting for them to grab my payment before I realized that I might need to pay at the front (no signage or indication from the waiter). Had I not waited so long I may not have noticed.
Either way, we'll be back when we're...
Read moreSome of the commenters have stated that they did not enjoy the Chinese food that they ordered. it's literally a Vietnamese restaurant. If you go to a Mexican restaurant and order pizza you're sure to be disappointed. I can only speak from the experiences that I have but this is a Vietnamese restaurant, when I go I typically order Vietnamese food. The boba tea one Taiwanese exception is excellent. There boba is some of the best Boba tea Ive had. When a person orders Chinese egg rolls at a Vietnamese restaurant, an item that's already not Chinese it's hard to take them serious. Try the butter fried quail and then get back to me. Enjoy some of their Vietnamese take on dim sum and then write your comment. They're stir fried noodle dish and pho are top notch give them a try!. Bottom line if you go to a Vietnamese restaurant and you order Vietnamese food and the Vietnamese food is good that's the standard by which that you should judge a Vietnamese restaurant. And in that case by that standard this restaurant shines. The food is delicious and the staff are...
Read moreI love this place. I go here with co-workers at least once a week for lunch. Their lunch menu is great. You wouldn't expect a Vietnamese noodle house to serve good chinese food. Their chinese lunch meals are only $7 and it includes soup and egg roll. Their various Vietnamese lunch deals are good too, ranging from $7-10.
I usually get either their rice plate or their pho good soup. Either is great. I love their sweet tea also. It is not sugary water like the Micky D's...yuck! The sweet tea here is awesome. You can still taste the tea and has that perfect level of sweetness.
Service is shared among everyone instead of just one dedicated waiter/waitress. Usually at a place that use this method, something goes wrong but it seems that they have it together.
On Sundays from 11am until 2pm, they serve a buffet. Lots of good Vietnamese dishes to choose from and their quail is to die for. I think I will take my family there this Sunday.
You will enjoy...
