Curry n Cake Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Charlotte

It’s really hit or miss nowadays at this place. When it’s good it’s really good. But our order yesterday (a Thursday night) was just disappointing. Perhaps they have a new cook? Who knows.

We ordered Gobi manchurian, which we haven’t had from here in awhile. It was not even made properly! It’s like they just rolled it around in ketchup and vinegar. It’s never looked like this when we have had it before. Plus they overcharged us by at least $3 for it. My husband did not get a receipt so he doesn’t know exactly how much she charged but usually for 2 Biryani it’s about $34. We paid $49. So the Gobi was $15?? But on the menu posted here recently by someone it says $11.99. So clearly they overcharged.

We ordered 2 Biryani. The meat doesn’t even seem like it was cooked together with rice. It honestly had less spices then what we are used to seeing from this place. Rice was light it color, like it wasn’t cooked long enough with spices, etc. It’s really lacking the depth of flavor we usually see from here. I shared a pic from the morning after. Biryani originally had full egg and onions on top, along with 1/4 of a lemon slice that’s there.

Maybe we will give this place another chance but I don’t know. I just wanted to share...

Gone are those days when we got good food here. Curry n Cakes has totally lost it. My inner self forced me to post this negative review just so that either the management improves and provides its customers food worth what people are paying for(and mind me people are paying lot). Otherwise Atleast people would be aware and refrain from going there.

We have had bad experiences here not once but many times. The coconut chutney is having 80% water, aloo tikki chat has 10% aloo and 1% taste. Orders are messed up and we get paneer tikka kabab instead of chicken tikka. When we got the chicken it was actually burnt. Service is horrible and place is not as clean. Getting less tasty food is a bit bearable. Getting non tasty food and paying so much for it is not bearable. However the googly comes with the fact that the food somehow does not agrees with the processing of the stomach and it makes it upset every time we eat there.

If It was feasible I would have personally stood in front of the restaurant with a board, "Please don't eat here!!!!". Since that's not possible, I would not suggest anyone to...

WORST restaurant I have ever dealt with!! Every time I ordered lunch from there it would like nearly 2 hours for it to be ready. I gave it a couple of chances as the food is tasty. This last time, I decided to have it delivered and ordered it once the opened at 11 so I would have it be 12 or 1230pm. I was wrong again!!! It was delivered at 130pm even though I ordered it at 11am. I asked the delivery person why it took so long and they claimed it wasn't ready for pick up at their quoted time so they moved on. Once I looked in the bag - I was missing a person's lunch and when I called the shop - they would not deliver the rest of the order for me. I was not able to leave patients so I went without lunch that day. I was told I would get a full refund and its now 3 weeks later - no refund. I have called multiple times and get the same answer - "we will take care of it right away". Nope, nothing. Today I call back and I am told that I will get half a refund as I got half the order - um but it was an hour late, cold and missing items...not sure how these people are still operating with service like this!!! Doesn't even deserve a 1 star - had to mark one to...
