Giving this place one star is generous, and only done because I cannot give a lower score.
Came here today, 11/21/2018, for a late lunch. My wife and I decided to order to go, but when we walked in and saw the place mostly empty, we thought we'd relax a bit and enjoy the food. My first, and last, time here.
Waitress was extremely unfocused and rude. We asked for cheese dip with our chips, since the salsa provided was frankly disgusting. At the same time, we asked for a booster seat for our 2 year old son. The waitress left, and came back empty handed to take our food order. Once our food was ordered, we realized this lady wasn't going to bring us a booster seat, so we had to hunt one down.
20-30 minutes later, we STILL don't have our cheese dip. But the food did arrive. About 5 minutes after our food arrived, the waitress has the audacity to bring the cheese dip out, and when I tell her to please take it back and take it off my bill, she says sorry, can't do it. It's already out. My response was that since I ordered this appetizer at the beginning of our arrival, and since it didn't get here until after we started eating our main dishes, we had no use for it. My wife gets annoyed when the lady decides to argue and tells her to just put it in a to go box and we'll take it.
After a while of having finished our food and having our waitress take the plates, we still did not receive our bill. Of course, we had to hunt it down. No tip was left, which didn't sit well with this lady.
Unless you're ordering to go, or you don't care if you're treated like they are doing you a favor, avoid this place. There are so many better places to spend your money at, with much better food and for cheaper prices. My recommendation is either Lempira further down Central Ave, or Tacos el Regio on WT Harris, both with better food, better prices, and MUCH...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am in Charlotte for business. I was quite excited to try this place for lunch. It was not busy at all. My break was 1.5 hours long and only 2-3 minutes from the office I was training at. I was alone. It took 30 minutes just to get chips and queso. It close to an hour to get the rest of my food. The fajitas are mostly vegetables, despite me ordering the chicken-steak-shrimp mixture. Fajitas come with only two tortillas, which do appear to be home made. The tortillas are thicker than I am used to. The queso is nothing house-special. Just melted white American cheese. The food is mediocre. My major issue with this establishment is the lack of service. All of the other tables around me were well taken care, visited frequently by their waitress, and received their beverages and chips/queso before I even got my water. However, I was also the only Caucasian non-Spanish speaking individual in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food here is really good for the most part. The baleadas de carne asada are great, so are the pinchos, sopas, and desayunos. The restaurant is very clean. However the service sucks sooooo bad. They are nice servers but they are so unattentive and horrible at their jobs. I go back because its a convienent spot and the food is good but always leave disappointed. To say it lacks professionalism is suuuccchhh an understatment. The servers never Offer refills or come back to check on you after the food has been dropped to see how the food came out or if you need something else. They walk by the table constantly avoiding eye contact. There is no excuse for the lack if customer service because its a tiny restaurant with way too Many servers on the floor. They really need to train the servers in customer service....
