Stopped in on Sunday 4/6/25 around 3pm. Ordered three lemon drops, which was a premix, and was charged around $22. The bartender processed my payment, returned my card, and walked away, started helping someone else. At no time was I give a receipt or asked to sign for the transaction. Left shortly after as I was part of a tour bus and we were heading to the next location. Around 10 pm I saw a transaction alert for my credit card for an additional $5. When I did the math it was exactly 25% of the amount I was originally charged. Apparently the bartender thought he deserved a 25% tip on a $22 tab that HE never closed out for premixed watered-down alcohol. The $5 isn't the issue here, the actions of the bartender is what's upsetting. Is this normal practice for this brewery? Or is the bartender to blame? How many customers do they do this to on a regular basis? Did he purposely not give me a receipt so he could leave the tab open and adjust it later? Too many red...
Read moreSo while I'm not usually one for hops and will as a result I tend to stay away from IPAs. Not Last tonight though and Free Range Brewing's "Campfire" black IPA featured for their partnership event "The great indoors" with Mass Casa and The Crock. This Smokey IPA is bold and flavorful with a malty hops kick that will certainly knock you on your butt. Jeff's Breaktime was the other highlight and the night's favorite with it's nutty bouquet and smooth malt-coffee notes and a touch o' chocolate finish in a perfectly smooth balance that I have not had since our time in Montreal.
Edit 1/14/17: They are still getting better. Go ow and if you are fortunate enough you ca try the new "We Knead Each Other" sourdough IPA. This new partnership brew is mild on the bitterness of a typical IPA, but so full of flavors! A new personal favorite that mixes sweet and sour into a wonderfully...
Read moreI was just at an event at Camp North End and visited FRB igloo. Paid $22.00 for a mulled wine and a stout and was very disappointed. The wine tasted like arm pit. The beer wasn’t horrible but was not worth the money.
My original review I gave Free Range 3 stars. Since working with Free Range about my experience I have redacted, and I am now giving them 4 stars. They accommodated me well. I did enjoy the Shellem Muscle Beach Stout, Susie, The Queen Bee and Jenny Bought a Farm.
I understand, and know you all do to, that a brewery or a beer is not one size fits all, if it was there would be few options out there. I would like to thank Free Range for assisting me with my concerns as quickly as they did. I will visit Free Range...
