I had a fantastic experience with Alyssa - well worth the cost! I have been wearing my hair natural (curly) for years, but have always gotten haircuts at “normal” salons. Such haircuts were occasionally a hit, but more often left me feeling like they could have been better. And I disliked how the only thing that most stylists know how to do is just blow dry hair straight/ style with a ton of heat.

I did some research on curly hair experts in Charlotte and found Alyssa to have the best reviews (and also the most reasonable price of services). This was still the most expensive haircut I’ve gotten so I was a little apprehensive going in. I’m so glad I booked it! Alyssa did an excellent job of giving me the haircut I wanted. She is super detail-oriented and asks a lot of questions before and during the appointment, which I loved. I showed her several photos of the haircut I wanted, as well as some things I didn’t want, and she did a great job of creating my vision. Alyssa didn’t mind, and in fact welcomed, my many questions about curly hair care, which I greatly appreciated. In addition to getting a good haircut, I wanted to learn about how to style my hair, and Alyssa taught me a lot. I’ve done a lot of my own research and have watched YouTube videos, but it was so different and helpful to have Alyssa style my hair. I’m sad that I’ll be moving elsewhere and won’t be able to easily visit Alyssa. If I am back in Charlotte and in need of a haircut, I will try to find some time on...

I went for my first ever curly hair cut yesterday and chose Alyssa because she came highly recommended. I’m so pleased that I did! She is so attentive and was patient with all of my questions (I had so many!). All the information she gave me before the appointment was helpful in finding the salon and making sure I was prepared. She even texted me a visual of exactly what the entryway looked like which was great because a lot of places in Noda have the same industrial look and it can get confusing. I was provided a snack, drink, and most importantly, she made my hair look soooo good and talked me through the whole process. The professionalism and time she has but into her business really shows and I’m so glad I got up the courage to schedule an appointment with her after wearing my hair straight for the last 20 years. I’ll be a repeat customer and I’m already looking forward to my next appointment! It’s also neat that I can order replacement hair products through her site and have them shipped right to my door. I had my first haircut in 18 months from Alyssa this week and I could not be happier with the results! As a new client, I filled out a form that helped me select the service I should get and from there making the appointment was easy and pain-free. Leading up to the appointment, Alyssa sent a couple emails to help me understand what my appointment would be like and to give me an opportunity to ask any questions I had beforehand. During the check in process she also gives the client the option to ask for a quiet appointment among other customization options, and to choose from a selection of snacks/beverages. The appointment itself was amazing and Alyssa and I chatted during my entire 3 hour time-slot like old friends. She listened to everything I wanted and answered every question I had about products, styling, diffusing techniques etc. The service was on the more expensive side, but I think was well worth the price.
