We just got home from dinning at Lempira. We have dinned here several times and once again the food was excellent. However, after we got our meal service was non existent. I ordered cafe and it never came, my daughter paid the bill so I don't know if we were charged. No one asked to refill our drinks. Never saw our server to ask for drink refills and the bill never came but this is not the worst of it. In all my 58 years of eating out this was a first: We were a party of 7 sitting at a semi-circle booth and I was sitting in a chair we pulled up to the booth. Our meal was completed and we were waiting for our check. A very young bus boy started clearing our table the problem was that he placed a busing bin DIRECTLY on our table next to me and then he crossed in front of me and put a dishtowel on the other side. He didn't say a word and started picking up dishes he leaned across and in front of me several times. I moved a little because I didn't want to get in the way. Everyone in our party was wide eyed and wondering, "Is this happening"? Then without a word he dumped all of our drinks. They were in styrofoam cups and I wanted to take mine in the car. When I said something he didn't respond. Perhaps he didn't speak English? He then proceed, while we were still siting there, to wipe the table down. He reached across the table and was just wiping anything on the table to the floor. Problem was we were still sitting at the table and both my husband and I got table debris/ food on us. I pushed back from the table and was going to say something but he was gone. My adult children were laughing at my reaction and then said, oh, he's just a kid. We finally just got up and went to the register without a bill. To my surprise there were 4 servers up there standing around? Our bill was located, we paid and left. It was a busy Sunday afternoon but that is no excuse. Really...
Read moreThe food was good, The service HORRIBLE. the waitress did not know what she was doing, she brought our appetizer once our entrees had already came out. My wifes meal was missing her Guac salad, we asked for it and the server brought it out. When it came time to pay i was charged a extra 5$ for the Guac. i informed the MALE MANAGER of the issue explaining the guac was part of her meal that wasnt on the original plate. He had the audacity to go to our table bring the plate back and say " you ate all the guac and it was a order" So i am charging you for it. I was in shock to see how unprofessional and miserable he was. I told him i was not paying extra for something that came included in my meal, he got loud with me and stated he doesnt need my service. I told him I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND I WILL INFORM EVERYBODY OF HOW HORRIBLE THE MANAGMENT IS. THE MALE WHO IS THE "MANAGER" is money hungry and will rather CHARGE extra then make the issue right. I cant believe as a manager this is how he handled the situation. i recommend anybody who is thinking of eating here to think again. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE . i will NEVER AGAIN spend my money at the restaurant. He lost good business over a guacamole. I will continue to inform everybody of how unprofessional of a manager that he is. DONT GO EAT HERE. spend your money else where were it is...
Read moreThere seem to be dozens of these type restaurants all along Central Ave and nearby Albermarle Rd, so it can seem impossible to decide which is "the best" so I won't even bother. But I will say in the years I've lived here, this one is my favorite. The selections are vast, the portions are immense and the prices are pretty low, considering. Make sure you afford yourself plenty of time to peruse the menu (all items are in Spanish AND English) before you decide. I've tried many things on the menu and I have to say the flavor scale is very high and the chefs do not hold back from flavors, though many will be happy to hear there is almost nothing on the menu that is hot spicy unless you ask for it. Even their menu items that do have peppers in them, like jalapeños, aren't very hot. It is often very busy here because of the flavor to value ratio is so high. Be cautioned though that almost no waitresses speak English so communicating can get frustrating. But they are typically very nice and are eager to please. One complaint to share is they have a piss poor selection of desserts, flan being their current best...
