Livy's Neapolitan Pizzeria — Restaurant in Charlotte

This is my absolute favorite pizza ever. We’ve since moved away from Charlotte but every time we come I HAVE to have Livy’s at least once if not a couple times even for a short visit!! The carnivoro is my favorite - perfect mix of delish meats, a little heat from the Calabrian chili oil, and a nice doughy crust. Livy’s is located within Heist Brewery’s Barrel Arts location. You can order inside to take it to go or stay and enjoy a brew and have your food brought to you. They have a huge casual indoor area as well as an amazing patio and outdoor area with a large grassy field - perfect for bringing along dogs or kids. It's not terrible but it's also not great. The beer cheese was a disapointment. It was slightly bitter and not savory. Mellow Mushroom has better beer cheese. We ordered the carnivoro.The pizza was just okay. Marinara was on the sweet side. The apperance of the pizza - I would describe it as something trying to be appear as modern. It was not executed correctly. The burnt spots takes off points. The cheese shavings were scattered with no care (spots with no cheese). The menu misleaded us thinking this was going to be a modern take of Italian pizza. I'm sorry but I would definitely rather eat at a pizza chain than here. Also, location and the name was confusing. We thought it was separate from Heist Brewery but you actually go in and order the food from the bar area. So...

Enjoy the pizza here, but chaos on the ticket system. Ordered and was told it’d be an hour, fine. Show up an hour later to be told an additional 30 minutes due to only 3 people in kitchen, understandable. Another 30 minutes go by and it’s finally ready… 2 small pizzas in 2 hours. There was at one point 30-40 tickets in queue with few of the staff on their phone and one tying up her hair right by food window. No offering or apologies for the wait mentioned and will not go back. Great pizza but not worth...
