Mix Grill & Wings — Restaurant in Charlotte

Since I moved to Charlotte, 2021, I had been in search of a good solid hot wing. I know you may think, all hot wings are made equally. If that is your thought, I also believe that I can rightfully assume that you indeed have no issue with frozen pre-seasoned hot wings. Though, there are definitely ways to doctor those up and make them taste French kisses marvelous. Those that know the experience of tasting the best hot wing they’ve ever had can feel me. And no, BWW is NOT it. Honestly, I love Pizza Hut’s bone in wings fried an extra 4 mins and drenched in their medium hot sauce, for anyone who don’t have too many wing options.

Either way, where was I headed? That’s right, I was in search for a good solid hot wing in Charlotte, NC. Yea, sure I can make them myself, but I don’t always feel like cooking. Actually, being transparent, once I’ve decided to become a private chef, I cook less and less. Don’t shun me, a sista need to rest too! Either way, let me get to the meat of things. So the first really good hot wing I had in Charlotte was from Jack Beagle’s. They have a blackberry hot wing that is extremely good. Though this is not the wing in which I praise. It definitely was a push in the right direction.

So, me being a serial Uber Eater, was scanning the app, in search for hot wings. I googled and read the reviews for every place I considered, then I came across Mix Grill and Wings. I am crying as I type, cause I’m just so happy claps in Mrs. Klump style. The reviews raved about their wings, so I gave it a try simply because they offered an array of flavors, including blackberry hot. So I ordered ten wings, five blackberry hot and five strawberry hot, and an Italian sub.

After ordering, I received a phone call from the restaurant, they informed me that they no longer offer blackberry wings. Though sorrow attempted to creep into my heart, I deflected and was grateful that the strawberry hot was still available, and must I say, the customer service was great. So, about 30 minutes passed and my wings were delivered and y’all, I was DELIVERT! They smelled so good, AND THERE WAS NO MESS!!! You know how sometimes there’s more sauce in the bag than on the wings? Yea, none of that.

When I opened the plate, I got emotional. The wings were beautifully coated in a glossy red sauce, and they were still piping hot. I bit into one, and it had a bite. The texture felt like I asked them to fry them hard, but not too hard. The sauce wasn’t sticky, nor too messy. It was literally the perfect wing. 10 out of 10 if you’re looking for some bomb wings come here I can’t recommend this place enough it’s a little hidden gem that at first glance looks like just a small restaurant in the corner but once you step inside, it’s so much more I ordered their chicken over rice !😝 dare I say this is better than the one in Uptown the chicken was nice and flavorful with great portions ! I also got the wings and oh man I’m not a big wing person, but these were really good! They have a nice crunch to it and they’re a nice size! I tried the strawberry flavor and the teriyaki. The strawberry one is their most popular one, and I can see why! What sealed the deal was there a customer service That is very important to me. Mohammed was such a nice and welcoming person you can see he really loves what he does and I also have to add this place was booming people coming in and out ! Keep doing what your doing guys ! Owner or manager has a nasty attitude. Went for a pickup, he hands me a cup for the drink. I stated I don't make drinks, I deliver, if the drink is not included, then that is an incomplete order. I don't get paid to make drinks, if I wanted to do that I would have applied for a job there. I deliver people. Then lied to grubhub when I called them. He assured them the order was complete and ready. I walk back in and again he hands me the cup. I was told to refuse the order and keep it moving. He advised me not to come back in there. Which I wouldn't anyway, but I advised him, I will let Grubhub know, our services are no longer needed. See what a nasty attitude gets you....
