Rating: ★★★☆☆
Service: ★★★★★ The service at Pelican’s Snoballs is exceptional. The staff is welcoming and attentive, eager to assist with flavor choices and customization options. Their friendly demeanor and quick service make the experience delightful from start to finish. The team is knowledgeable about the menu and enthusiastic in their recommendations, ensuring that each customer feels valued and cared for. This level of service definitely earns a five-star rating.
Food Quality: ★★★★★ Pelican’s Snoballs offers a vast array of flavors, and the quality of their snoballs is outstanding. During my visit, I opted for the guava and cream combination. The guava flavor was vibrant and refreshing, with a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The addition of cream elevated the experience, adding a smooth, rich texture that complemented the fruity guava beautifully. The ice was finely shaved, creating a soft, snow-like consistency that soaked up the flavors wonderfully. Each bite was a tropical delight, making the snoballs here a five-star treat.
Atmosphere: ★☆☆☆☆ While the service and food shine, the atmosphere at Pelican’s Snoballs falls short. The outdoor seating area, though functional, lacks charm and comfort. The setup is basic, with picnic tables that feel more utilitarian than inviting. There’s a noticeable absence of shade or decor that could enhance the ambiance and make the experience more enjoyable. The overall environment feels a bit neglected, which detracts from the otherwise high-quality service and delicious offerings. This aspect of the visit unfortunately only merits a one-star rating, as the atmosphere doesn’t live up to the excellent food and service.
Overall Experience: Pelican’s Snoballs delivers on fantastic flavors and stellar service, but the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The guava and cream snoball was a highlight, showcasing the potential of their menu. However, the lackluster setting detracts from the overall enjoyment, making it a less ideal spot for a leisurely treat. With improvements to the seating area and ambiance, Pelican’s could easily elevate the entire experience. As it stands, it’s a great place for a quick, delicious snoball, especially if you’re not too concerned with the...
Read moreLet's start with the most important part, these are great snow cones. These aren't the wimpy little snow cones that come in a tiny triangle of paper with a hint of some flavor. No these are snow cones by people who obviously care about snow cones.
I ordered a large black cherry with the sour spray. Initially I was pleasantly surprised that the sour spray was actually sour, and it added a nice outer layer to the cone. As I continued on I started to notice a few things about the cup, the styrofoam had zero syrup on the outside (meaning my hands weren't sticky at the end!) and it prevented the whole thing from melting, even in the 90+ heat. Throughout the snack I noticed that they used the flavoring at about every third meaning the whole thing had great cherry flavor. Finally the ice itself was a great texture, not packed super tight so you have to chip it apart, but not so loose that it can't hold syrup.
There's a lot of fun kids' choices on the menu featuring themed desserts, and the generous sizes mean that the parents can have a nice treat themselves.
My only complaint is that I kept eating it so fast I got multiple brainfreezes. 5/5, great...
Read moreLiterally ordered four different snowcones. Got the first two immediately then they got the third one wrong 4 times before finally getting it right. Then we didn’t even get the last snowcone, so we told them and they refused to give it to us saying we already got it. Finally after going back in forth, they made it, but it was wrong. So they had to make it again. Not a great experience and it took 30 minutes for four snowcones(each two flavors and one topping) Not worth it and there were like 10 people waiting in line and none of their orders were...
