I remember the first time I walked in. It wasn't completely what I expected. Please do not let the name fool you. The surprise was quite refreshing and much needed. It is NOT you typical Italian pizzeria type place. It is in fact, a Spanish restaurant. I discovered this the first time I placed a pickup order while looking at the menu. It was confirmed when I picked up my stromboli. It was rather large, and quite delicious. I have been saying since that very first time I was going to go back and try some of the other dishes they offered. They do have your traditional Spanish fare, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, among quite a few other items. They also have a typical subs, pizza, calzones, and as I said before, Stromboli. This time I decided to try the item in the picture. I decided to get that because it was rather late and I didn't want anything that was heavy on the starch. (Anything with a lot of rice, beans, or bread.) When I tell you I was the farthest thing from disappointed... It is a soup and I did ask about the types of peppers shown in the picture. Those are no longer a part of it. It is large tender chunks of beef, carrots, cabbage, zucchini, onions, carrots. There is also a type of vegetable in it that is shaped like an apple. I did ask what it was called because I was curious and the waitress thought for a minute but then stated that there really isn't a word an hour language that it would translate to. I didn't mind because it was absolutely delicious. On the plate you have your scoop of rice, chopped corn, cilantro, diced jalapenos, and a lime. When my food got there I immediately got excited because to me, this was presented like Vietnamese Pho! (I was super excited to try this!) It was full of flavor and did not disappoint. It's quite a large serving of soup as well. Depending on your level of hunger you may need to take some home. The waitress was super nice and so is the rest of the staff. The restaurant is also equipped with a very lovely bar and they do take out, delivery, and dine in. I am so happy that this place is not far from me at all because I will be going back...
Read moreThey need to not sell Italian food...their menu is so mixed around ..it's almost impossible to keep everything fresh. Mexican and Italian food online place..sounds almost like a case of a Gordon Ramsay show.. Anyways so my family usually only came for their Carne asada pizza. Mexican flavored mpizzas are hard to find here..usually the only place that has them in Los Angeles. After the pandemic I think they started adding more and more food options that the food quality just went down hill. I ordered my usual carne asada pizza..first time since the shut down.the pizza was bland and they didn make it the way they used to. The sauce was different the toppings were different. I then ordered ceviche... For 1 tostada...is was 18 bucks!!!!!??? That's insane considering you don't even pay that at a cevichería near by.... It was extremely over salted and they put shrimp in it...could of sworn the menu said fish...that's definitely and allergy at my waiting to happen.
I hope things can turn around here...the place always seems empty...their health inspection was just fine.. Overall I wouldn't recommend going unless they buckle down and perfect a few main dishes instead of having a whole smorgasbord...
Read moreI like to support small and try small restaurants. The pizza was good, but the sweet sauce kind of put me off. That’s more MY preference than their lack of cooking skills because the pizza was still delicious!!!! And huge for a medium! She said the lemonade was $5 and I almost choked. We don’t drink soda and they don’t have tea so we had waters. No issue (I’m pregnant so I drink water anyway!) All in all, I’d come back for the pizza 🍕 Our waitress was polite, but seemed a little standoffish.I think by observing, that’s just how SHE is??? . We still tipped because she was attentive and very sweet to my son. Somewhat of a language barrier. But not to where we couldn’t understand one another! The place is super clean, no one had masks on, but that’s fine with me! Just saying in case it isn’t for...
