i was heartbroken to learn that my beloved plant joy closed (yes i live under a rock) but became less sad when i learned that another vegan restaurant would take their place!

their nachos are the most popular for a reason: definitely get them “spicy”, not really spicy for me but just way more flavorful. the bbq quesadilla is delicious and great for kids in my experience! i’ve also tried their chikn sandwich, but the chikn is grilled rather than fried. someone else would probably love that, but it’s not for me. i can’t find if they offer sunday brunch but i would love love LOVE if they did, vegan brunch is not the easiest thing to find and that’s what i loved most from PJ.

the fries are great but charging extra for two ounces of sauce is BEYOND stingy. many other charlotte local spots (like yafos for example) give you as many of their housemade sauces as you’d like (within reason) without an upcharge.

overall i’d definitely recommend + would go more often if i...

Very long wait. Nachos were good and the sweet potato fries were good, but a small serving for $6. It was busy tonight and I paid cash so I could tip cash. The young lady forgot to hand me my water so when my order was up I mentioned I forgot my $3 drink. It seemed like the older women didn’t like that too well. I’m going to get what I pay for. Seemed like there was a bit of a fuss between the two and I think that’s very unprofessional especially infront of a paying customer. Not the owners fault about the customer service of the servers. That was absolutely what I was disappointed in most. Everything else I could deal with. How you treat your customers is how they’ll remember and if they want to come back. Definitely look into the servers I don’t think it was that young girl . I happen to overlook and see them saying something about me asking for my drink. I think that should be said in the kitchen not in front of...

I tried their hand-cut fries with rosemary (extra charge) and vegan ranch (extra charge); the fries had no flavor and were very oily. After ordering, I noticed that they take the fries out of water and place them straight into the fryer. I had never heard of this process before and am wondering if that led to the lack of flavor and the interesting texture.

The vegan ranch is bomb! It made the fries better; however, once the ranch was gone, I no longer wanted the fries. They should consider giving the ranch for free since the french fries do not have any seasoning at all.

After tossing the fries, I noticed about 4 different people who ordered them, felt similarly, and tossed them as well. Don't waste your money.

Also, tried the reuben at the Gastonia location and felt similarly about the...

The setting is nice! I appreciate that they use real ingredients. I like that they make homemade ingredients. However the food lacked flavor unfortunately ☹️. We ordered the loaded nachos and the shroom Philly. We got the taco-flavored tofu crumbles on top of the nachos (extra $). Presentation was great, we loved the chips! But the dish was still lackluster. The Philly had wonderfully soft bread, good sauciness to the sandwich. But flavor-wise it was just *shrug*. We ended up buying sauces ($1 each) to put atop the food for more flavor. We wished we could’ve spent the calories on something better.

We are not vegan, but we like to try different foods. We got 2 sandwiches and shared so we could try each one and got the garlic rosemary fries (they were supposed to be waffle fries, which i think the yummys would have stuck better to the fry). Everything was very flavorful, as a meat eater, I did not miss the meat. The mushrooms had the same texture and flavor as a meat version. There was no line when we went and our food came out in a timely manner. Service was friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back and try some of the other items on the menu.

We had a short visit to NC (Concord/Charlotte area). We went to Camp North End for an ice cream shop. We had time before it opened, so we walked around and found this place to eat, Soul Miner's Garden. I was so excited that it is vegan. The Chik'n Sammie jumped out at me, I asked for the sauce on the side and it was a perfect meal, delicious. They accommodated my Hubby's request to have his philly made gluten-free with rice versus the bread. 🍔 Shroomin Philly (over rice instead of bread) 🍟 Rosemary Garlic Fries 🍔 Chik'n Sammie
