Ordered three 10ā pizzas, two orders of garlic knots, and an order of fried mushrooms. Iāll start by saying that Iād LOVE to review the mushrooms, but we never got them. Moving on to the garlic knots: one order was WAY overdone (the other was overdone but not quite as bad), like I couldāve broken triple-pane windows with these things; that same order, the marinara broke open due to poor packaging, so we had two kids who refused to even touch them. The pizza boxes are cheap, and the moisture caused by the heat of the food caused two of them to cave in. GOOD pizza boxes can hold more than a few ounces of weight!
Finally the pizza. What can I say? It was just awful. Now maybe Iām picky because I was born and raised in Chicago and worked in pizza places for many years up there; but I seriously could not eat that pizza. The cheese-only pizza wasnāt even round; it was oval and visibly smaller than the others. The pepperoni was slightly better visually. The Hawaiian pizza was carelessly assembled; as you can see in the pic, the toppings were not evenly spread, and they went very light on a couple of the toppings.
None of the pizzas were properly cooked. The very bottom of the crust was overdone and cardboard-like, but the crust under the toppings was not even baked, it was chewy and actually raw in some places. The cheese used is not good quality; it is pale, even after cooking; and had a fair amount of grease, which isnāt found in high quality mozzarella. The pepperoni is horrible - too spicy even for my girls who normally eat anything, and also greasy. As for the Hawaiian pizza, well you can see the pics; not only the visual issues, but that onion is still mostly raw and that gives a terrible taste to the pizza overall.
The five of us barely ate enough for one average adult. Two of the kids are upstairs trying not to puke; the other two took only a couple bites then made mac ān cheese instead. Me, Iām taking this whole pile of trash where it belongs - my trash can. I wouldnāt feed this to my dog, and will never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is like someone's idea of an Italian restaurant, when they don't know what Italian food is supposed to be, combined with either being cheap or strapped for money, so you skimp on ingredients.
Our party ordered a few different things, namely a calzone and an Italian sub. The idea of what goes into an Italian sub is not really a secret, but this place is not in the know apparently. What was delivered to us was essentially a ham sandwich slathered in mayonnaise. Included was one piece of hard salami, and one piece of provolone cheese so thin you could see through it. Capicola? Forget about it. I guess ham is cheap and salami is expensive?
The calzone was marginally better, but ultimately let down by ingredients and how it was assembled. Ricotta cheese crowded one end of the calzone, mozerella the other, and the single added ingredient - sausage in this case - served as a wall between the two. Someone apparently is not sure that these ingredients should be mixed...
So we start cutting up the calzone parts and re- combining them, and we get to the sauce. This is the cheapest tin can red sauce you can imagine, and if it's going on the pizzas, I don't know how anyone recommends this place.
I didn't try the pizza, but based on the sauce I think ultimately you're better off going to Domino's. And if people think this is the best pizza in Charlotte, Pure, Benny Panellos, and a few other places would like to have a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you're vegan and gluten free, this place is not for you! I went here It last night, and me and my sisters ordered gluten free & vegan option pizza. Vegan: just pick whatever veg/fruit they have and add vegan cheese! Gluten free crust, was like an oversized Lunchable pizza kit, but thinner and crispier...you could have just called it a thick rice cracker with canned toppings! I chose onion & spinach, wanted more, but each topping was over a dollar. I didn't want to end up with a $20 10 inch pizza! One of my sisters returned hers after looking at the pizza. I didn't return mine because there was really nothing else to eat there besides lettuce! The older man, making the dough (for the non-gluten free & cauliflower crust customers) does not have a mask on while prepping/making the food. Definitely was not worth the money, extra charge, whatsoever! I could have gotten a bigger, better, pizza at other establishments which I have, for less money, with endless toppings, and better crust. As a company, it's as if they chose the cheapest crust just to include the vegans. This was my 1st and last time going there! We were celebrating a birthday and I just didn't want to make a fuss. Other non-vegan family members that ordered the regular pizza was not impressed with their orders either it was just nothing...
