UPDATE: 07/31/2025 Since posting my review, I spoke with Matt, the Operations Manager, and I want to acknowledge how much I appreciated that call. He listened to all of my concerns, answered my questions, and assured me that some changes will be implemented to help prevent this kind of situation in the future. He also invited us back to give us the experience we should have had the first time.
For now, I’m updating this to 3 stars to reflect that the follow-up was handled well. Once we return and see how the experience goes, I’ll update this again. 07/28/25 - We came to TopGolf on 07/16 at 5:30 PM to celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday with our baby and friends (who also brought their baby), and I honestly left feeling disgusted by the service and overall experience.
First off, it was miserably hot in the bay. While there were fans, they were pointed in the walkways for the staff, not toward the bays where guests were actually seated and trying to enjoy themselves in the summer heat.
Service was incredibly slow. It took a long time just to get our drink order in, and then no one came back to take our food order until we were nearly an hour into our 90-minute reservation. At that point, we debated even ordering food because we knew we wouldn’t have time to eat. Then, our waitress asked us if we wanted to extend our time. We said yes, she swiped her card, and walked away. We assumed it was taken care of.
With about five minutes left, one of our friends noticed the timer was still counting down and asked the waitress about it. That’s when she suddenly told us she needed to check with her manager, only to come back and say they were backed up by an hour and we couldn’t extend. If they were that backed up, why offer an extension in the first place?
We got our food with five minutes left, cold, stale tater tots and the wrong wings (we ordered boneless, got bone-in, and only flats). Then we were told we had to move all our food, drinks, and two babies, with all their stuff, into the bar area. I asked, “We have to move all of this ourselves?” and she said she would help… and then disappeared. Eventually, she and another employee came back to carry some things, but by then we were already scrambling to relocate everything ourselves.
What upset me most is the complete lack of care. I told the waitress this was my husband’s 30th birthday, and we just wanted a fun evening. She said she relayed that to her manager, but clearly no one cared. And yet, she had no issue collecting our check and tip before we were even done eating.
To make matters worse, our friend tried to get a drink at the bar while our waitress was nowhere to be found and the bartender (who was literally texting behind the bar) told him he had to order through our server. Completely unnecessary.
As we were leaving, we saw plenty of empty bays, which made the whole “we’re backed up and can’t extend” excuse feel like they just wanted us gone. No one even showed up in our bay until about two minutes before we left the bar area, more than 30 minutes later. I’m including a photo of the empty bays in this review so others can see for themselves.
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. If you’re going to advertise yourself as a fun, family-friendly venue and then treat guests like an inconvenience, something needs to change. We won’t be back.
And please don’t bother responding with your usual copy-and-paste “We definitely want to make this right, please reach out at…” message. I already submitted this entire experience through your online support form on 07/17, and someone emailed me saying my feedback was passed on to the location’s management team and that someone would follow up with me. It’s now 07/28 and no one has reached out. Also, we all know that response is AI-generated. It’s impersonal, insincere, and just adds to the...
Read moreOur 1st time at a top golf. We had an early morning reservation. We ended up with a perfect bay especially for our 1st time.
Some things I noticed: -had to pay 20% up front to reserve the bay + $5 booking fee
-as I'm driving there, they're auto texting. I need to respond with "ok" or my reservation would be canceled. (Uh what? )
-get there and reply "here" get our bay#
-walk up to guest relations (I assumed I had to pay the rest) nope they ask for your name & tell you your bay
We go up stairs find it
You do everything yourself on a touch screen on the wall.
As we're typing in info, waitress comes over. Asks us for a card to start a tab (we weren't planning on eating or drinking. We ate before we got there) my hubs was going to hand her his debit card. I'm like no use a credit card not your debit card. She's like "it's just to start a tab. You can pay with a different card at the end."🤨
We fill out our stuff & then get ready to play again never been there I didn't realize the men & women clubs were right beside each other in the holder. They need to color code them or put up a sign so people can see them better. Anyway, we haven't even started playing yet & the waitress comes back over like Jimney crickets "would you like anything?"no like no offense but why are there waitresses? Everything is done on an app you should have a touchscreen for people to place orders on.
We DID order a bottled Dansai water ($3.75). When you have 10 mins left they'll ask if you want to extend time if not they will sign you out. (And they are exact on the time (no last shot at the buzzer) like Holy cow.)
When they sign you out you'll then pay for the rest of the reservation & any drinks, etc. She's like "would you like to just charge to the card on file"🤨
They also advertise that you can "upgrade" to the latest golf clubs for an extra $20.
So for other newbies: it was only 2 people, 2 hrs bay on a Sun morning & 1 bottle of water & 2 membership fees & $5 booking fee = about $90
Time wise playing the topshot game took about 30 mins each game for 2 people. (It's 20 balls each person) & keep in mind we didn't eat any of the food which eats in to your time.
It mostly reminded me of bowling minus the relaxing atmosphere of feeling like you can sit down between balls 😂. I was trying to get the most out of the $90.
Some improvements would be make it so you can order using a touchscreen or a call button to cue a waitress. She shouldn't have to come over every 2 seconds. Also I would have preferred to have the option of paying for our whole reservation up front when I did the...
Read moreWhere do I start? I had some time off yesterday and decided to spend it with my brother enjoying a new experience together. Not only was this his first time at TopGolf, but his first time swinging a golf club period. Our venture to this brand new TopGolf facility already start on the right foot because it turns out, my brother is an absolute natural at golf. It felt like watching someone reveal a talent they have been hiding from the world for many years, similar to finding out Mike Tyson races pigeons or that Justin Bieber is a master at the Rubiks cube. Before we were even out the door, he was already asking me about the next time we would visit, and was asking for souvenirs to remember the day.
Moving on. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and seemed to come at the exact right time. If I could award a TopGolf superlative, our server would certainly win my vote for "most reliable". We finished our hour long session in bay 223. If our night would have ended there, I would have left 100% satisfied.. On our way out, we received calls from both my brother and my wife who heard of our adventure and decided to join. Could this day get any better?! I was not partial or superstitious to the good juju of bay 223 as I anticipated that no matter which bay we were in, it would be magical. Upon my wife and brothers arrival, we walked in feeling loose and warmed up. I am not sure which professional golfers I would compare our collective group to, but if I had attempt to pinpoint it - we were somewhere between Dustin Johnson and John Daly.
We then went to bay 227. On this rainy September day, things looked a little grim as our golf ball machine... giver... provider...? Name the machine how you will... it wasn't working. This turned out to be a very brief moment as the on duty technician whipped out his multi-tool and was in and out faster than an intern’s dignity at a cigar club meeting. This was not a concern for us, but TopGolf decided to redeem themselves for this very minor inconvenience and gifted us an hour of free play to make up for it. It was truly a memorable experience, and without a doubt we will be back to this location. Maybe even tonight. Are you guys running any...
