I have been going to Starbucks for years and have had a lot of good experiences and some not so good, but I have never encountered anyone as incredible as Shi working at this story on University. I discovered this Starbucks when we moved closer to the area, and it has become our go-to store instead of the one we frequented in the South Park area.
I first noticed her making drinks and seeing her always moving, always working, and never standing around, even when the store wasn't busy. She would be cleaning her area and taking care of anything she thought needed to be done.
Probably a couple of months ago, she waited on my wife and I at the register. I always order a coffee cake not warmed up, and probably at least 75 percent of the time it's warmed up. When I ordered from Shi, she immediately gave me my coffee cake. What's funny is I had mentioned to my wife multiple times previously, why don't they just give it to me since I don't get it heated, because I have often still been waiting for it while I already had my drink, and at some stores, this was over 10 minutes later. I think I mentioned to her that I appreciated that she did that.
A few weeks back, we ordered our drinks and my coffee cake and my wife's sandwich. I thought I noticed Shi making my drink, but when she picked it up and started walking with it, I assumed it wasn't mine and was for the drive thru. Instead, she walked over to us at our table and brought both of our drinks and food orders. In well over 30 years of visiting Starbucks, that had never happened. I admit I was kind of stunned, but I guess I shouldn't have been, because Shi is incredible at her job. She always makes the drinks perfect, is always working and so hard at that. I get tired watching her and admit I would probably slack off when things were slow, but she never does. I told her how much I appreciated her service.
This Starbucks is the most efficient one I have been to in Charlotte, and I have been to several, and I think the likely reason is Shi. I do think Starbucks is dropping the ball though, because Shi should be a corporate trainer for Starbucks, teaching every store to be run as efficient as she is. Read moreI am a daily Starbucks customer and I had the worst Starbuck experience this morning 11/19/2021 at the Starbucks at University City Blvd and Ikea Blvd in Charlotte NC. I understand that this location stays very busy and normally I am very patient. I made my order at 6:35 am on the mobile app. I arrived at the store around 6:40am. I saw they had a long line in Drive-Thru so I went inside. The first thing that was not nice, was the mood of the store. With all the Christmas decor, the workers moods were not engaging. No one acknowledge any of us customers that were there to say Hello, we will be right with you. Absolutely nothing was said or gave any eye contact to us that were there waiting. Then after standing at the mobile order area for about 10 minutes, I see a lady worker with red braids pick up a cup and started talking to the drive thru lady worker with blonde hair and white boots about the order on the cup and stated are really serious or are they crazy and put the cup back down. A few minutes later the blonde hair worker picked up the cup and proceed to start making it and talking smack with the lady with the braids. I notice what she was putting in it and realized that it was my drink because I know the way I order my drink is different. Trenta Very Berry Refresher Extra Blackberries Strawberries Peach Juice Kiwi I always pay the extra fees for everything. The blonde hair lady worker put my drink down and started to handle a window order. When she was done with the window order, she then proceed to talk more trash on my order with another short lady work that was doing the oven orders. She was loud, so I know the whole store heard her. After talking she go to get the Hibiscus juice from the back and finish my order. When I finally left the store, it was 6:56am. Read moreon 7/28/2019 @ 10:30am ..Went through drive thru asked for iced macchiato w coconut milk as I'm allergic to dairy.. they gave me a hot one.. then the girl at the drive thru window had the audacity to roll her eyes and had attitude as if I was bothering her with my drink..she had someone make me and iced one..they threw it all together then swirled it and handed it over to me...with an sarcastic attitude face and voice "have a good day"..I'm in a rush so didn't have time to turn around and tell manager...but when I went to take a sip all I got was a big clot of tea powder in my mouth and was choked while driving and almost lost control from choking.. and it also was made with milk instead of coconut milk that made me also started breaking into hives and allergic reaction kicked in a few minutes later...to the girl that made this drink & drive thru girl...if you don't like people or certain type of people or your job you shouldn't work at Starbucks...and shame on manager who hired you cause they couldn't see how malicious you are...Starbucks hires some good people but it's apples like you that need to find somewhere else to go spew your disgust and hate!
