This review is about the service and not the food. My daughter and I came here for dinner. The food was great as usual; however, the service left much to be desired. I went back to the register to get my daughter's free scoop of custard and my turtle scoop too. I was encountered with four young people just looking around and not asking to help. I felt I waited patiently enough for someone to acknowledge and help me. There was this one girl who ask was I ready and then I ask was she ready. Because as I stood waiting she continued to look at me without asking if I need assistance. Mind you, there was no one else there . I told her that I wanted the free scoop of vanilla with hot fudge twice and I told her I wanted my turtle scoop as well. She slammed the number card down in front of me. I watched as another employee made the turtle sundae for me and saw her come back with the small cups in her hands. She slammed the free scoop of custard down in front of me along with the turtle custard. I told her that there shall be hot fudge on the free scoop and she came out of her mouth saying that she ask me that and that I had an attitude. I responded immediately with she had the attitude and I told her that twice. She brought the scoop back with a drizzle of fudge. I took it but felt it didn't have enough fudge on it. So, I took it right back to her and told her she didn't put enough fudge on the custard. Then, another employee stepped in and say ma'am the child scoop comes with one pump of fudge and I told him that custard should be covered. He took the cup and put more custard and fudge in the cup. I thanked him and went back to the table we were at. I have been coming here a lot in the past months. I want to say every weekend. However, I am going to have to think about if I want to decrease the number of times I give my money to this Culver's because what I won't accept is bad customer service even if the...
Read moreNewest edit: Still can never get an order right. Most recently have not gotten bacon on my wife's burger the last 4 times coming here, the last time my wife being so fed up we didn't bother having it corrected because we had already been waiting so long. Dan and Michelle, if you actually read this, please fix the issues with order accuracy. Updated review back to a 3 due to the order issues and overflowing trash cans outside.
As promised, I editing my original review. In that review I had remarked on low accuracy of my drive-thru orders, tending to have an item missing. However, the food and staff will always keep us coming back. The missing items were only an issue when I'd be in a hurry and not double check my bags.
Since posting that review, I haven't had anymore issues with accuracy and they let me know they saw the review and apologized and truly made me feel like a valued customer. As someone who grew up in Wisconsin and Culvers are more common than McDonald's, this restaurant helps remind me of home. And if you're reading this review having never tried a butter burger, you don't know what you're missing!
Edit: After re-writing my original review above, went to Culver's for dinner. Checked my order and it was missing a fry. I re-scored my original 3 star review to a 5 star, but am now bringing it to a 4 star. I still love this restaurant and the food, just wish I wouldn't have to check every order for accuracy each time I come here. On the plus side, they gave me a large fry for the error.
Newest edit: I'm not sure if it's a good thing but it seems that pretty much all the staff knows me now. We have great running banter about some of my previous messed up orders and they always make me feel appreciated as a customer. As I've said before, the food is amazing, the staff is wonderful, and they've more than earned...
Read moreHeard amazing things about this place thru word of mouth. With steak n shake dropping most of their specialty shakes and menu items and going to self service INSIDE, they're off our list of sit-down restos. We decided to give Culver's a try. What a disappointment. We had been looking for a sit-down experience so parked near the doors. You can't read the note pinned to the door that they are STILL closed until you're 2 feet away. For Real indoor burger dining, I suppose there's only Red Robin. Despite the dwindling menu and service, SnS is at least open inside, Culver's is NOT. We didn't try the shakes here, but the burgers were charred and tough all around the edges, more like BEEF JERKY than hamburger. The fries were just average as well as the sodas. Maybe the shakes are the way to go? Remember guys, McDonald's is as low as you can go on the quality scale and still stay in business, you dip below that and you'll be gone. This being our first experience there, I don't see how we could ever go back again. Their drive thru situation is terrible. They give poor instructions telling people to pull around the building in the first place, with NO SIGNAGE. But the car ahead of us just pulled to the corner and stopped. So the single drive thru was clogged up even more than it would have been. There is no person outside at all except to drop a bag and disappear back inside. These guys really need to drop by a Chic fil A and see how to run a drive thru! In fact, I'm not a big fan of chic Fil a, but I'd have to recommend you go there before Culver's. Welcome to the...
