Do not EVER trust their delivery. It is a joke.
They commit on a date. One day before the delivery, they send another text message, asking for your for confirmation. You confirm.
And on the day of delivery, they send a cryptic, automatic email message stating that the order failed. You call the customer service, they say "We will send another email in the next 24 hours to advise you if the new delivery date". You ask "When is the new delivery date?". The answer is "Sometime this month".
You call them again to talk to a supervisor. They obviously do not let you do that. Commit that the supervisor would call back in 2 to 4 hours. Obviously, that never happens.
You suck it up. OK. Nothing to do.
Then, in a few hours, you receive another email stating the order is on the way as scheduled. You are hopeful; well, maybe they have sorted it out.
But when you click the link on the email, it says "Unfortunately". You call them again, they say "Yeah, sorry, we cannot deliver today". And they say they would contact ASAP to re-schedule. Obviously, no one calls you back to re-schedule.
Well, you call again and this time, the agent hangs up on you.
You call them again, this time you say you would report if they hang up again. Now, they do not. After a 30+ minute of conversation, the outcome is "The store will call you back".
Obviously, no one calls me back.
Call the customer service, got the telephone number of the store. Talk to a rude manager who transfers me to a "Resolution Specialist" to face a voice mail. Obviously they don't call you back.
Finally, they reschedule to the following week (One week delay). They commit on a delivery time window. They, of course, do not deliver.
ALSO... Check-out lines. Prepare to wait at least 30 minutes for a simple purchase. The worst Ikea shop that I have ever seen, anywhere in the world. EDIT: This seems to have been improved a little bit as of June 2025.
I think European companies which do not have any clue on how to operate a business in the USA will eventually leave, or hopefully, learn how to treat a customer AND have reliable systems that display consistent information and send accurate messages...
Read moreI had the worst experience today with the IKEA delivery. I ordered over 3000 worth of items to be delivered into my house next day. 2 men came to my door, I shoed them where to put the boxes and they did exactly opposite blocking my hallway. I asked to move it over the other side where I can actually walk without tripping on the boxes. They did. They stacked drawers and shelves and started bringing PIX frames I asked not to lay it next to the stack cause it will again block the hallway and to please put it inside the room which is right next to the hallway. He refused, started yelling at me that I am not letting him do his job and make it difficult for him. ANd him blocking my walking space is not making it difficult for me and workers to walk? Then it was that he's not allowed, and that if anything is wrong with the items Ikea will not cover it cause it's not stacked in one place. them stack it dammed where it's not blocking my hallway and not a health hazard for people walking by to trip on the boxes while caring heavy items and tools around. He told me he's cancelling my order and taking all my items back. I said I'll call the police cause he has no right to cancel my order. He called his boss and lied that this customer doesn't want the delivery and he's taking it back to the store, took the box and left instructing his co worker to do the same. I have a video of that. HIs coworker grabbed the box but then left it on the landing of my stairs where it eventually slit down to block the stairs, and left as well. They lied that they felt unsafe in my house and now Ikea won't deliver anything into my house. They hire illegals to work for them and these people do whatever the hell they want, lie, disrespect etc. They have no morals and no work ethics and IKEA is standing right behind this madness. I need to order more and more items to complete my walking closet and they are punishing me, their customer for what their delivery people did, not even give damn that we pay their salary, and not the other way around! Without us buying from them there would...
Read moreI recently visited this IKEA location and purchased outdoor furniture totaling over $600. I had also intended to buy an outdoor umbrella priced at $380, but since it was out of stock in-store, I placed the order online. I was told the umbrella would be available for pickup the following Saturday between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
On the day of the scheduled pickup, I proactively called the store at 10:00 AM—prior to making a 2.5-hour drive—only to be informed that the order was not yet ready. I was assured I would receive a confirmation email or text once it was available. After hearing nothing further, I called again at 12:30 PM and was told the delivery truck was en route and that I would be contacted shortly.
Unfortunately, 2:00 PM came and went without any update. I called again at 6:00 PM, at which point a representative informed me there was an issue with the order and, regrettably, no one seemed willing to take responsibility for the confusion. I ultimately canceled the order and visited IKEA the next morning.
Additionally, when I attempted to return one of the patio chairs, my experience at the returns desk was disappointing. The associate, Marquise who assisted me was noticeably short and spoke in a tone that felt dismissive and unprofessional. When I mentioned I had lost my receipt, he interrupted me and demanded a specific date, time, and purchase amount. Although I was able to quickly locate the necessary details and the return was processed, the interaction left a negative impression.
In summary, due to this series of poor customer service experiences, I will avoid placing online orders with IKEA in the future and will be hesitant to return any items given the way I...
