After reading many reviews, we tried this place today, and the others weren't lying. These pastries are absolutely fresh, flaky and delicious!!! We arrived just before 8am and bought several items to try. My favorites are the spinach feta, chocolate croissant, and crownie (croissant on the outside with a chocolate swirl top, and a brownie chunk with dulce de leche on the inside). I'm not necessarily a fan of the coffeecake because it's not my preference. The spinach bacon quiche, although a little salty and smokey flavored, is delicious as well; however, I'd prefer a little less salt.
Our only disappointment was with the matcha latte. Given that we always go to Gotcha Matcha and order multiple times per week, this is nowhere near as enjoyable. As a matter of fact, I recall saying Vicente's matcha latte taste like ground up grass and dirt, and there was no sugar whatsoever.
Regardless, Vicente's is a Bakery & Bistro, so needless to say, they score in the area of their expertise...5 out of 5.🙂
Please leave the matcha latte to Gotcha Matcha. They're the best at it!
UPDATED REVIEW* After such a delicious initial experience, we decided to return for another go round. Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed. The problem here is with consistency. Either someone got into work late and rushed the food prep, was in a bad mood, or wasn't careful. We bought three spinach feta croissants-2 were salty and one had a few salty crumbles on top with the rest of the filling lacking flavor. Also, they were overbaked and dry. The third picture is of a supposed chocolate croissant. Notice there are two little specks of chocolate and that was pretty much it. The funny part is just two days before, the chocolate was proportional to the light and flaky pastry.
On a different note, my daughter said the matcha latte was better this time because she asked for vanilla syrup to be added.
Service and atmosphere still get a 5, but food score must be downgraded to a 3 due to inconsistent quality...
Read moreI will admit that I am not one to typically write reviews as it usually involves having to figure out my password and by then I lose motivation and stick to an occasional ❤️ or 🤤 or maybe a comment on instagram which is the only social media I have and I have it only to discover the next yummy food to enjoy. And Instagram is how I came to know and love Vicente. I can still remember the smell of their amazing croissants 🥐 when I first opened their door and knew how incredible they were going to be. Their breakfast croissant sandwich is huge and I usually split with a girlfriend so we can then also split a delicious pastry too! Their food is delicious and their people are sweet and kind. Unlike the people who decided to give them 1 star ⭐️ reviews because they sell out of their pastries since they are so delicious. And is why I decided to actually go to the effort to write a review today. Two… not just one person felt the need to take the time write a review and give 1 star saying that business is doing bad business simply because they sell out of a product before they managed to get there to buy any. One even stating that they came at 9, 11, & 12 and every time are sold out. Now personally if I went at those 3 times and they were already sold out, I’d set my alarm and try earlier next time. As a matter of fact, I know that Vicente opens at 7:30am, is closed on Mondays, and closes when they sell out. So when I have a Vicente craving I make sure I am there no later than 7:45am to get what I want or accept the consequences that what I want may be gone. Being mad at business for being sold out of a special is like walking into a bakery mid October and being mad that they no longer have the September donut of the month. Come on people do better! Be better! And for everyone else who already knows how good Vicente is, take the time to write a review and help raise Vicente star score back up from the 1 stars ⭐️ people who should be given themselves...
Read moreThe baked goods are delicious, however, I arrive a few minutes before 11:00 on Saturday, and I suppose it was 11:01 by the time I was helped. I ordered what I saw them making at the kitchen behind the counter, a delicious looking egg sandwich with cheese, bacon, and a delectable spread on a croissant.
They looked me dead in the face and said “no” because it was after 11:00. I personally observed a carafe of mixed egg that was presumably used for something else other than making me and selling me what I asked for.
On a weekend, this hardline cutoff at 11:00 seems arbitrary and petty. I gently gave them another opportunity to say “yeah we can make an exception,” but was unsuccessful.
Their items are delicious, but I’m inclined to not return in principle, and find another bakery that also makes delicious things, and also recognizes that maybe it’s beneficial to sell a customer something they highly desire and have an unlimited...
