SWIRL Dessert Bar — Restaurant in Charlotte

We decided to come for the grand opening after seeing that they were giving away free cupcakes.

There was a bit of a line, but it wasn't too bad. I'd assume this was just because it was the grand opening.

We got the two free cupcakes--the Tiffany and Cleopatra and then built one of our own. The cake was pretty dry on the free cupcakes, but I'm thinking it might just be because they made a bunch for opening day. They icing and toppings were both good.

I really thought our build your own was the best of the three. We did strawberry cake, cookie butter icing, and poptarts, marshmallows, cinnamon toast crunch, fruit pebbles, and raspberry sauce. The cake was less dry on this one, but I still think I've had better cake. The icing and toppings were where they really shined.

Overall, I love the concept of build your own, but I've had better cupcakes. If they improved the cake to be more moist, I think they would really stand out. I'd definitely come back to give it another try though. Since it was opening day, I'd be interested to see how it is once...

Cool place the fact that my friend and I ordered the same thing which was an ice cream sandwich and hers only came with one cookie and a scoop of ice cream. First off the cookie looked NOTHING like how it did on TikTok. They had the good stuff hiding all in the background to where it was too late for me to add. I mean what was advertised was a thick layer of ice cream and after almost a 10 minute ride home it COMPLETELY MELTED! I didn’t know that they warm the cookies up to make them “soft like insomnia” but it did the complete opposite instead it grew hard and stale! Not to mention the chick that served us made several eye contact with us while she was in the back doing whatever until we actually approached the counter even though we were the only ones in there! Overall the cookie was okay and the ice cream would’ve been good, what I have pictured is a ‘strawberry type pop tart cookie’ and mind you this is the next day but as she stated but nah that wasn’t it and I was lit ready to do a TikTok video but eh. Our family of 4 visited for the first time this weekend. Overall it was a great experience.

The shop is super clean and inviting! It's bright with lots of colors and a really cool mural.

Staff is very patient and friendly.

We did not try the cupcakes and cookies. The sign out front advertised the best milkshakes in Charlotte so we had to give it a try! We tried the birthday and the thin mint. Both were tasty but a bit underwhelming. There's actually nothing negative to say about them, they were just good.

There was a bit of a wait but that's to be expected because they prepare everything, including your cupcakes when you order.

There is a parking lot out front with plenty of parking and they do have a restroom.

Definitely stop by and judge for yourself. My family and I will be returning to try the cookies...
