Waffle House — Restaurant in Charlotte

Okay I’m not one for reviews but I feel i should even though both parties I can say were in the wrong. We had a big party sort of and we asked for it to be all together. Our server, “cherry” seemed to be genuine but tonight maybe just wasn’t her night. She was told many times the check was all together but still did it separate. My brother paid for his food and the other people at his table but he still needed to pay me, my bf and my other brothers check since cherry somehow didn’t get the memo of it all being together. (This was when the plate situation takes place as my brother was about to pay for the other three meals but being the good person he is, he followed his gf out to try and stop what she was trying to do which as you will read you will find out)She kept forgetting things, it took her over an hour to bring our WATER CUPS and we never even did get all of our items we ordered, which yes we were charged for. It had been a long night clubbing and my brother was a lil tipsy and his gf was too and so after not being brung a box after waiting a while she decided to take a plate outside. One of the workers banged on the window and followed us out and I tried to explain the situation but he just sarcastically answered and kept on. He gets to the car and doesn’t even try to understand the situation at all. Which yes, my brothers gf made the wrong decision but he has no reason to be rude to me. Keep in mind, my brother chased his gf out to get the plate but the worker disregarded us saying that. After a little somewhat “standoff” the worker takes the plate back and said he was gonna call the police on my brothers gf. As the worker was walking away he says “being so extra for no * reason!! And rolled his eyes. I go back and pay so it wasn’t a dine and dash like they were making it out to be and the guy still has an awful mood and was like “it’s fine “ then “yeah ok” in a rude manner and we walk in and I pay the 27$ tab and tip 20 dollars to cherry, good ole cherry (bless her heart). But at least the cooks said there’s good people in this world but I think the worker and server could’ve been a lil nicer or this wouldn’t have happened. Food was good, for what we did receive of our order. Good luck y’all. In no way do I condone dine and dashing, so yes I did pay and I tipped extra because cherry said it was a long day which I get but come on chica you gotta push through a little better. I’ll pray for peace amongst the workers and props to the cooks being nice and making good eggs. 🙏 also quick note there was a perv that came from a strip club sitting there waiting for young women that couldn’t even look my brother in the eye and started sweating and shaking when my brother...

Got stuck in Charlotte for an extra night, had heard so much about the Waffle House and wanted to give it a try. Man, it was a wild night. The lady working the counter was stretched thin. It was her and the cook with about 8 separate parties. She literally had to lock it down. She was so slammed that after another customer & I stepped to the front, she had the doors locked to prevent more customers from coming in. She proceeded to kick out a junkie who tried coming in through the backdoor, tend to all the bills, tried coralling a co-worker to show up for her shift, call out remaining orders & deliver them. The cook was something else. Man was slinging it at the griddle. Man in a wheelchair rolled up trying to get in and she turned him away and then spilled some tea on his situation.

I had the Texas Sausage melt plate with smothered, covered & chopped hash browns plus a chocolate & pecan waffle. I really enjoyed the meal. Waffle is one of the best I've had. The experience was... one to remember 🤣 A lot of things were said by the server that probably shouldn't ever be repeated. We decided to eat at the Waffle House because the diner we really wanted to go to had too long of a wait time. We walked in and we were surprised that they had seating available right away. We sat down and immediately felt uncomfortable because the a/c was on full blast. The waitress came over right away and we ordered coffee. As we waited for the coffee, we got colder by the minute. She brought the coffee over and the minute she sat it down I realized that it wouldn't be long before my HOT coffee would turn into ICED coffee. The blast from the a/c was literally blowing all the steam right out of the coffee cup. We were wearing thick sweaters but we were still freezing. I started to realize that our food would get the same cooling effect as the coffee so we decided to leave. Who wants to start out eating a hot meal to only have it turn ice before you have a chance to finish? We told the waitress that we didn't want to order anything else and wanted the bill. We told her that we were too cold to stay. She waived the bill and apologized and we left. The waitress was warm and friendly but the Waffle House was icy cold. 2 stars for the...
