4,5 stars. Great dinner at this small restaurant. A Truly hidden gem, authentic homemade Mexican food. Be aware it will be fully crowded during weekends. So, I decided to go with my friend on a Monday night. There were 3 tables and ours. Love the seating. The place is very colorful gives you good vibes. From the outside you can smell the food...I'm so happy I chose this spot. Amazing and Authentic food! It taste so good! We couldn't believe how flavorful was the rice, beans, everything. Our server Cindy, came with chips already made. They were hot! With 3 different kind of salsas. Service was great, very attentive, knowledgeable and kind. All ladies around we're checking on us. My friend got a Margarita, it was so cool! For less than $10, a huge one and good. (other places are too small or with poor tequila) Homemade tortillas. I got ”the hungry killer with salad” Portions are BIG. The meat was so tender and flavorful. My friend went with ”3 Mexican Tacos”. No leftovers for her. Stated it was delicious and full of flavor. Tacos are $2 EVERY DAY!!! Really once again food inexpensive and delicious. Only cons are drinks comes in bottles or cans, so no refill. And we hated the restroom was so dirty. That's why I'm only giving a 4.5 stars. If you are looking just for child and salsa, or a fancy trendy mediocre Tex-Mex place. This is not the place for you. Definitely my new favorite American restaurant. After being living in Charlotte for 3 years and a half I found it! Other things to note: * You go up and pay to the window. * If you only speak English, make sure what you are going to order. (anyone hardly speaks English inside). However, menu is available in Spanish and English. * Portions are large for the size. * Remember there are no refills. * Even there will be enough space in the parking lot, inside will be full. (You can always choose different days or hours.) *Check appetizers, guacamole, alcoholic and none alcohol drinks like: American sodas (coke-pepsi) with waitress (they are not in the menu). * Address is correct (South blvd) but not the map. (make sure if you are not familiar with the area). * Dont mind about the 1 star’s reviews. Probably they only went once and was for sure something out of the menu. * if you like/love Mexican food, this is a MUST! Hands down! Be back soon for Tacos!!

I found this spot on Google and decided to try it because they advertised one of my favorites!! The Birria! I went right at the start of the lunch rush.... Which wasnt so bad...at first. As I walked in I noticed the beautiful interior and the lively atmosphere. I ordered 3 birrias waited about 37 minutes(was quoted 10-15 mins) and the young man that was helping me seemed to be a bit overwhelmed. Once I got my order I had to wait about 17 mins for the chips and salsa(whomever bagged it forgot that) he was very nice just a bit flustered. Once I got home and inspected my meal I noticed the packaging wasn't much as the photos will show. The food was super soggy. Came in a plate covered in aluminum foil, Not crispy at all. The chips were the usual nacho chips. They gave 4 different types of salsa. The meat was tasty and the consume could have been better..it was some thick stuff at the bottom of the cup maybe the ingredients had settled?? All in all I may go back to try a few other dishes to be more rounded.. but I think I will try a different spot for birrias and definitely don't go at 12 during lunch rush. I think I was just super hungry. It hit the spot but not a favorite.

This place was recommended to me at least three times so we finally had a chance to go and honestly, everything was just… okay. No Taco Tuesday specials, and the tacos were pretty average—not bad, but not anything to rave about. I got the chicken and campechano, and the campechano was the better of the two. The biggest letdown for me was the spicy margarita. It wasn’t spicy at all, and I didn’t feel a thing after finishing it—which says a lot because I’m usually a lightweight. My boyfriend got the birria tacos and said they were amazing, so points there. Service-wise… meh. Our server wasn’t super attentive. We ordered two margaritas—mine came out fast, but my boyfriend didn’t get his until the end of the meal, when we didn’t even want it anymore. She brought out salsa right away, but the chips didn’t show up until the tacos did. I’ll give them another shot though, because I do want to try more of the menu.

The tacos are the best in town, but you can only get them if you speak very fluent Spanish or happen to call at a time when an English speaker employee is staffed. I've also ordered "tortillas de harina" which translates to flour tortillas and received corn tortillas before, which you may agree with me, tastes like wet dog fur smells. The fact that I ordered specifically flour tortillas in Spanish makes me believe that the lady taking my order told the cook to make corn tortillas to turn me off to this place. Add to that the fact that I asked for their chocolate flan dessert which is IN the menu, and I could SEE it in the fridge right in front of me, and the lady said No we don't have chocolate flan and I can't have any out of the fridge, makes me think they don't want white people eating here. Weird because I always tried to tip over 20% for takeout and I guess they didn't appreciate it because I'm not an authentic Mexican. The salsas are excellent, but the language barrier is holding this spot back from becoming a favorite of anyone that does not speak fluent Spanish.

I called and asked Ola Habla Ingles? She says No. Then there was an akward silence for a few seconds and she starts rattling off Spanish when she knows good and well I need an English speaker server. Oh well, looks like I'm eating anywhere else today and from here on out. No sympathy for this place when they get paved over and condos are put up in...

I’ve been to this location twice and the first time was great. I’d seen the positive reviews and invited my Mexican parents to lunch as the food, especially the tacos, seemed authentic. We were not disappointed and this quickly became one of my parents go-to places. However, I recently went back on my own and it was the complete opposite experience. The waitress was so rude and off putting. She came to take my order and I wasn’t ready so she said she’d come back to check on me, she literally never came back! I’m fluent in Spanish and I guess she wasn’t aware of it and instead of coming back to take my order I heard her flirting with all the single men she was waiting on, conveniently skipping my table since I spoke to her in English. I had to get another waitress, who was great, to take my order. I heard her tell the first waitress that she had forgotten my table and she laughed and said “he doesn’t doesn’t even know what he wants.” When my food was ready the first unpleasant waitress came back and basically threw the food down on my table, wow! I spoke to her in Spanish and she looked dumbfounded. When I paid I made sure the tip went to the other friendly and hard working waitress. I will not be going back to this location despite...
