Let me start by saying we loved the food. While on vacation, I took my grandson to Rios, he had never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse and was excited to try something new. The food was cooked to perfection! The staff was great, very friendly, and we never had to wait for food, they were constantly coming around with something new to try. We ate a little off the bar but the meat and pineapple that came to the tables was what we were there for, so we made the most of that. I like how they give you small slices, that way you don't stuff yourself and can keep trying the next new item to arrive. After dinner, he ordered the chocolate mousse cake and it was very good as well. I would go back again, when visiting Charlotte. The food and staff 5 stars.
What I have a problem with was this...Again, we were visiting from out of town. When I was looking up places to dine, Rio came up and there was a coupon that I could purchase through Local Flavor for $25, which was good for $50 at the restaurant. I purchased it and when I arrived there was a sign on the register that stated, "no coupons would be honored during Queen Feast". I asked, was it Queen Feast? And the hostess said, "no, it was last week". I stated, "oh, good bc I have a coupon." She then said, "oh, wait, let me check with the manager." She came back and said that "Queen Feast had been extended one more week and that I couldn't use the coupon." I told her I was from out of town and the coupon would do me no good later. She got the manager and he said, "your coupon is no good", as he breezed by us, never even stopping. As we waited for our table, I was looking around and saw the Queen Feast poster on their front door stating that the event ran through July 30. I also checked the internet, same thing. I was there on July 31. I went back to the hostess and said, "I have a problem with this." She told me she would ask the manager again. She came back and said, "He says he'll honor it but you know you can only use one coupon." I knew this and only had one coupon. My 10 yr old grandson looked at me and said, "It kinda seems like the manager was trying to scam you." Yes, a 10 year old could figure out what the deal was. Had it been during Queen Feast, I would have complied and not had an issue. What I have an issue with is, if you don't want to accept coupons, don't agree to issue them through...
Read more3 problems. 1 we reserved a table through open table during queens feast. 2 hours before our reservation they called and cancelled our reservations saying they did not have enough room to accommodate us. 2 we went the following week because we wanted to try it out. We got a coupon in the mail for $20 off 2 dinners, our friend who went with us also had a coupon. We went to pay we were told they could only used one coupon per table. It does not say that anywhere on the coupon. 3 I called to talk to the manager, I said I would be happy with $10 back on my card to cover my coupon, they said they would pass it along and call me back. Its been a week, and I have heard nothing.
I emailed you as you asked, still no response. Hello,
in response to the review of Rios in Charlotte on google. I don't know how you all work with open table. This is our first time participating in the Queen's feast restaurant week. We did what it said to do and you all called us and cancelled our reservations. Secondly, the following week was not the Queen's feast restaurant week, it was regular price and there was no other offer to use and it "does not" state 1 per table.
Lastly, I called on Monday August 8 and spoke to a man. (Possibly Hispanic). He said "the manager was off on that Monday and would be in the following Tuesday and he would pass it on and they would call me." Tuesday came and no one called. I called back on Wednesday August 10 and spoke to a lady who said she was the manager. She said "it was store policy" not to use 2 of those coupons per table. again that is not on the coupon or menu that I could see.
I told her that I just wanted the $10 credited back that I didn't get from the coupon. We have wanted to try a Brazilian steakhouse out and we did not want to go downtown to do so. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, but I thought it was a cheap move considering what we paid for the meal. ($100.02)
it was transaction 123459 cashier Pati...
Read moreMy husband and I are always looking for a good Brazilian steakhouse. This one was ok.
He made a reservation for 545 on a Friday. They open at 5pm. It wasn't crowded at all. Only a few guests and a party.
We were greeted slowly but surely upon entering while hosts talked but they were nice. We were seated quickly. They have a very tentative staff. They only had one working Bathroom but it and the buffet area was very clean.
They have a variety of hot & cold sides. I loved the honey mustard mushrooms (cold) , mushroom soup (hot), cheese bread, lamb, house special, and filet minion.
It's like I would recommend because they have some good stuff but then again I wouldn't... because I think maybe there maybe better options for special occasions or a lil date night on the town for the price (expensive) husband wouldn't tell me but said it was way over my $40 dinner for 2 goal LOL, but it's not far from the mall. Lots of parking for the restaurant and good customer service.
I didn't like that the tables are very small, juices from the meat went in my water, because they can barely sit the spits down to give you the meat. Luckily hostess were tentative and trying to remove plates in a timely manner but still small tables and the chicken wings wasn't the best, sausage and some of the other meats, even though medium well, was not able to be chewed (flank), and this is how I usually order my meat and at some places it's still chewable lol
They gave us the bread, some fried bananas (not plantains), and something else as appetizers but we didn't like.
My first drink (passion fruit) was good. Then a gnat got in it and they made me another one and it wasn't as good but they were still nice about it.. and having to get me another water.
Shoutout to the manager or owner he was doing his thing greeting people, serving, and cleaning everything..
I'd say if you like Brazilian steakhouses just try it and see how...
