Do NOT order from this place! They’re over expensive for the low quality you get, they’ll get your order wrong every time, there are much better options that are worth your money.
Firstly, a basic cheese burger and fries is $14 before tax. You get less fries than you would from a company like five guys for the same price, and for the cost of just fries you could get more and better quality from literally any fast food chain let alone a more premium sit down option. The fries? Thin. Not fluffy. Not very crispy. The texture of chewing cardboard. How is it I can get better quality from microwaving store bought frozen fries? The burger? The patty was dry. The cheese has basically no flavor. The bun almost has the texture of stale bread. You get Mayo and ketchup as topping options and you get enough to coat the top of the burger to say that “they added it.” The sweet potato fries? Wouldn’t know because we didn’t get them! We ordered them. We were excited for them. But we got regular cardboard tasting fries. When we called and let them know, they tried to gaslight us and tell us we didn’t order them, even though it’s an extra $2 for the sweet potato fries and we could see it on our receipt. In the end they apologized and didn’t do anything about it, didn’t even refund the $2 difference for the two orders. Still tempted to go back and demand a refund for the mistake and time, but just don’t care to go back.
So in the end they charge a premium price for worse than frozen grocery store quality. Next time, we’re just going to Five Guys or Wendy’s before we ever go here again.
Better premium options would be just going to something like Jack Shop and getting a burger. Just as expensive, but a burger that’s x3 the size, the fries are of actual quality, and they don’t get your order wrong then try to gaslight you even though it’s in writing on a receipt.
Don’t come here....
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try out Sizzle Shack since we were looking for a new place to eat and we were not disappointed at all!
The menu doesn’t have a large variety, mostly a few different burgers and chicken sandwiches, as well as two types of fries, but we liked that because it made choosing our food quick and easy. They do offer a variety of dipping sauces which is nice and the special sauce is fantastic!
We both got the Shack Smash, I on a bun and my wife on a lettuce wrap. It was phenomenal! The meat was cooked well (no pink but still super juicy) and the overall flavor was delicious. As far as lettuce wraps go, Sizzle Shack does a pretty good one, too, which is a plus for anyone looking for low-carb options. As for the fries, I thought they were nice and crisp with great flavor. There was some sort of seasoning on them that made them pop.
The service was maybe slightly above average, but they were still kind and answered my questions and then got the food out quickly so that was nice. Still 5 stars because there was nothing bad to report.
I read a review saying this is Charlottesville’s best burger and while I can’t say I’ve had them all, this was certainly the...
Read moreI got the Shack’s Smash which was surprisingly good. Meat was juicy, the bun was cold and a little too bready but I would definitely get the burger again. Got the fries and sweet potato fries as well, they were okay. The sauces which seems like their signature was okay as well. I think I’m fine using ketchup for the fries if I choose to get fries again. Overall good experience and good addition to...
