If you know me you know that I speak my mind and am occasionally too blunt. I wouldn't recommend a business if I thought the owners lacked integrity or were unworthy of the community's support. We tried Dogfish Taco Co, Chatham this afternoon. Full disclosure: the owners are friends of ours. They know we would not offer a good review without cause, and that if we was underwhelmed, we would simply say nothing. All this to say we LOVED it! We consider ourselves "foodies." We love flavorful, fresh food. Love our cocktails, and atmosphere is VERY important to us. Dogfish delivered on all of the above. We thoroughly enjoyed our House Margaritas. A little tart and a little sweet. Nice balance of flavors. Next, we were going to try the fish tacos but the Special: BBQ shrimp taco special spoke to us. Oh my word! Nice balance of flavors to say the least. The toppings and shells were fresh, and the perfect amount of heat. We also tried the chips and a side of guacamole. I make a great guacamole. I wouldn't say theirs was better than mine, but dammmmmn, I have some competition! Lol!
We were there mid-day so indulged in only one of each item mentioned above, but could have easily had seconds. Cannot wait to go back and that will be soon. Congrats Pete and Heather...
Read moreAtmosphere would get 5 but very hot stale air with zero movement. Kept it simple and had a house Margarita which was was excellent. Kept the food simple as well and ordered a fish taco and chips and salsa pico de gallo which is critical in how I access a Mexican restaurant. The food was non-inspiring. The Pico was not interesting whatsoever. With Vine ripened tomatoes this time of year, I'm not certain how you justify canned or non-vine ripen tomatoes. The tortilla chips were way overly salted. could not eat them nor could I eat the salsa. The fish taco was pretty much a bit of ground fish and very Bland. Nothing I would ever return for. I will return gor the service and the drinks. The girls down below in the kitchen are sweet and nice and efficient and the bartender...
Read moreI should probably give 4 stars considering the quality of the food throughout most of the cape is poor and the fact that the staff was very nice but we left most of what we received unfinished. Not terrible and a good option particularly for the busy parts of the year when tables or take-out elsewhere are impossible to find, but expectations should not be high. Overall, the best option for dining on the cape is to purchase fresh fish and cook it at home, which is our typical go to…except with two cranky kids on the verge of exploding if they didn’t eat immediately. The Chatham Pier Fish Market has...
