El Agave Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Chattanooga

First off I NEVER leave 5 star reviews.. We had been packing and loading a moving truck (for our son) for 2 days and today was the light at the end of the tunnel. I looked at the time and it was 930pm and we had not eaten since early breakfast. So I googled for Mexican restaurant near us.

And Hot Dog I found El Agave!!!! 😊😋😋😋

I called and ordered our food to go (as I knew they were closing soon and I was not going to have them service us sitting down (to me it's just rude when they only have 15 minutes till they close and have families to go home to but, that's just me).

They answer the phone right away (I say this because many businesses (the town close to where we live) do not answer until you call back for the second or third time). Anyway, they took our orders and I popped in to get our food and apologized for being so late with ordering food so close to closing time. They very calmly assured us no problem!

We drove 40 minutes home and had to smell the absolute wondrous aroma that was permeating from our to-go bags which made the boys get on the hangry side a little bit lol.

We all run in the door grab plates and start eating. The very first bite we took made us all jump for joy with the Palate explosion of tasteful joy!

This is by far the best Mexican food that we have had here in the United States! When people leave reviews about their food, you better believe it! I have boys that are very picky and they did not have one bad thought or complaint about their food!

They are absolutely friendly, thoughtful and the food is phenomenal! It had so much flavor and taste (we are used to getting bland).

I highly recommend them so if you're in the mood for some excellent Mexican food, you need to give them a try! I do not have one complaint!! The salsa was so fresh and amazing in addition to our food! Big thank you too the staff for feeding our family with such kindness especially right...

Don't overlook this restaurant. My husband ate here a few weeks ago and suggested that we go experience it together today. We have been to a lot of different Mexican restaurants in and around Chattanooga and this was one of the best. I had build-your-own combo with a cheese enchilada and a chicken soft taco. The enchilada was very good and it came with beans and rice and the chicken taco was large, the chicken was flavorful, plus it was loaded with lettuce and cheese. Husband ate Pollo Tropicale which was baked chicken with bacon bits and pineapple covered in a melted cheese with sides of beans and rice. He loved it. The only critique he had was to say that it would be a little more interesting if it were grilled chicken. We also had their free chips and salsa and added a bowl of queso which we mixed with the salsa (yum!). Everything came quickly to the table and was a very good temperature. We will definitely return. The poor service reviews I understand now. Customer service isn't for everybody. If you're not willing to provide great service, then don't work the front of the restaurant. you are quite literally the face of the restaurant.

Ordered online, food said it would be ready in 30 minutes. Show up on time and ask for an ETA. The girl working the front said the kitchen is busy, I can see that but that doesn't tell me anything. 20 minutes go by and I ask again for an ETA and she said she would go check in the back, but she never did. Finally a server asked if I was waiting on an order (which he didn't have to do, but I'm thankful for him) and tells me the wifi had went out at some point and my order was 'lost'. They would've known that 40 minutes ago when I walked in, gave my name and order to the girl up front if she would've done what she said and walk to the back to get me an ETA.

First time trying to eat here. If I ever get the chance to eat the food, I will update. 2 stars for the two gentlemen that finally checked in with me and gave me a refund AFTER WAITING INSIDE FOR 45 MINUTES....I'm fussy...
