Disgusting Black pepper flavor ice cream.Bad service, Did not offer to fix. Took a group of children to the Baskin-Robbins on Signal Mountain Road this past Tuesday. After all the kids got served, I decided to get a single dip cone also. I like chocolate best. Soo I got a dark chocolate flavor, (Do not see flavor currently on corporate web site,) so not sure of the name, something like Chocolate Mocha or Chocolate Royal. The icecream had a strong black pepper taste, (like the salt and pepper you have on the table). It was positively the worst, most disgusting ice cream I have had in my 67 years. I mean, I have never had bad ice cream in my life before. I was sure someone had spiked the ice cream with black pepper, it must have been a big mistake. There were 3 employees in the store, (Young Women) but as soon as they served my group, (before I tasted mine) they all disappeared into the back room. I called and called to no avail. I finally had the idea to have one of the children go in and out of the front door, which must of sounded a bell in the back room. One of the young women appeared. I explained the horrible black pepper taste of the dark chocolate ice cream. She said that's what it is supposed to taste like, black pepper, some people like it and then disappeared again into the back room. At almost $ 4 dollars a single dip cone, I expected her to offer me something else. I gave each of the children some of the ice cream, mainly to get rid of it, all agreed to was pretty disgusting. I called wanting a cake and was told that they only had one size, so reluctantly I ordered it, but when I tried to pay for it over the phone the worker told me it was to difficult for her to do over the phone to just pay for it when I came in. This should have been my first red flag. I went into the store at my appointed time to just sit around and wait for service while one person ahead of me was being waited on while the other workers sat around in the back looking at their phones and sharing post. I know this because I got to watch and listen to them for 32min. Finally after the person in front of me was waited on and the worker waiting on them checked their phone and replied to a couple of messages it was my turn. To my amazement I found out my cake was not ready nor did they know if I paid for it or not??? I asked for the managers name and the worker gave me the name of a Island in France. I just had to laugh out loud and asked her again their name and then was told that the manager travels a lot so it would not do any good to call. Read moreI always have the best experience whenever I visit this store. The staff is wonderful, and has a great leader. Mr. Justin is by far the best manager that anyone could ask for. He is very considerate, and will help you in any way that he possibly can. I visit the store frequently, (because it is always clean, and the staff is always friendly) and have had the opportunity to see Mr. Justin handle many different situations with grace and ease. Some people may call him rude, but what I have witnessed, is a strong leader who refuses to be made a fool of. The way that GREAT managers are treated these days is ridiculous. The customer is NOT always right, and Mr. Justin handles these ignorant people in just the right way. If you are looking for a great ice cream store stop on by this one, and prepare to be amazed.
