The last time I was here, it was years ago when I was a college student. I have fond memories eating here with friends in the cool ambiance of the "Rain Room" and sharing bites of mango sticky rice.
I came here with a friend visiting from out of town. We were seated pretty quickly. To my surprise, I had no idea they served sushi here so we got the California roll. My friend had some type of curry, I think the Red Curry with tofu. And I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken at medium spice.
Usually I order Pad Thai at different restaurants with medium spice and it's been the level of spicy that I expect. However this time, my Pad Thai wasn't spicy at all. If anything, it tasted mild with slightly spicy pockets here and there in between the noodles. So I was pretty disappointed at the spice level.
Other than that aspect, my Pad Thai was good. It was flavorful, nutty, and had the perfect amount of sauce to noodle ratio. The noodles had a good consistency and the veggies were crunchy and fresh. Sushi was tasty as well.
Our server checked up on us multiple times and was friendly. However at the table we were seated at, we were lacking a couple things like soy sauce and spicy/hot sauce. Although our server was quick to get us what we needed.
Overall, I'd give this...
Read moreGood food but concerning lack of detail from the service. The waiter put my order in wrong. I am allergic to pineapple and I ended up getting a curry with pineapple chunks all in it. I bit into one thinking it was a potato. Even after spitting it out immediately my tongue and throat were tingling and burning. I went back to the bar told them about the mistake, they took the dish and brought me the one I’d ordered very quickly. I didn’t expect much but no one from the restaurant, not even the waiter, verbally acknowledge or apologized for putting me in such a compromising situation. There was an epi pen on hand just in case so I wasn’t overly worried about me. It was concerning to me that such a serious situation wasn’t acknowledged. I don’t care about getting wrong food, it happens, I care that the restaurant didn’t seem to be bothered. I didn’t have a serious reaction this time but what about next time, or another person with a more severe allergy. I didn’t make a big stink because I already felt like the center of attention with my group and didn’t want to cause a scene but would have appreciated someone from the restaurant making sure I was ok and acknowledging the incident and their efforts to prevent these things...
Read moreThe food was delicious! My friend and I enjoyed everything we ate. We sat in the rain room and it was lovely atmosphere. However, our server Tim R, was a nightmare. My friend had him before and had already found him distasteful due to some strange remarks about her skintone and we were disappointed to have him again. He continuously referred to us as “girls” (we are both grown adults) and spoke down to us. His explanation of the menu was overblown and confusing. He didn’t seem to actually be listening to the questions we asked, talking about different menu items than the one we were trying to order. When our food arrived, we were nearly out of drinks. My friend had to track him down for chopsticks. We did not get refills until the end of the meal. Then, at the end, he took forever to get us boxes and checks. After we paid, he thought it appropriate to share his hours and how much he makes. Maybe just a suggestion to Tim if he reads this; from one server to another, you’ll make more money by being a better server not just working 60 hours a week. Will be back but will be sure to request...
