The last time I was here, it was years ago when I was a college student. I have fond memories eating here with friends in the cool ambiance of the "Rain Room" and sharing bites of mango sticky rice. I came here with a friend visiting from out of town. We were seated pretty quickly. To my surprise, I had no idea they served sushi here so we got the California roll. My friend had some type of curry, I think the Red Curry with tofu. And I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken at medium spice. Usually I order Pad Thai at different restaurants with medium spice and it's been the level of spicy that I expect. However this time, my Pad Thai wasn't spicy at all. If anything, it tasted mild with slightly spicy pockets here and there in between the noodles. So I was pretty disappointed at the spice level. Other than that aspect, my Pad Thai was good. It was flavorful, nutty, and had the perfect amount of sauce to noodle ratio. The noodles had a good consistency and the veggies were crunchy and fresh. Sushi was tasty as well. Our server checked up on us multiple times and was friendly. However at the table we were seated at, we were lacking a couple things like soy sauce and spicy/hot sauce. Although our server was quick to get us what we needed. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.5/5.

Came in kind of late, one hour to closing. Staff was friendly and inviting but was only offered to sit at the bar due to server availability. Food I ordered was not good. Ordered Rain Special Noodles with pork, Thai spicy. There wasn’t any spice. Was given the option to remake or add spice afterwards. It appeared they just added dried chili flakes. The food is listed as stir fried with green onion and bean sprouts but there is hardly either. Also menu lists a “secret sauce”, but the noodles were so greasy and there was zero flavor. I would say the staff were nice and accommodating though even though the order was wrong. I go to Thailand about 6 times a year, this restaurant would be out of business serving food like this honestly it’s nasty. Honestly serving dried chili flakes should be illegal in a Thai restaurant, if that’s not fresh what else isn’t. No prik nam pla, spicy sauce or anything else available. Also no real Thai drinks on the menu just Japanese imports and domestic stuff. Just your standard curry and pad Thai restaurant with nothing unique.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rain Thai Bistro on Lee Highway is a total hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, I loved the beautiful décor — so many amazing elephants and statues, it doesn’t feel like you’re in a shopping center. There’s also a sushi bar and an outdoor patio if you want to dine outside. The Pad Thai was fantastic — it came with chicken, shrimp, and tofu, which was such a great combo. You can choose your spice level, and since I’m a bit wimpy with heat, I went mild, but they can crank it all the way up if you’re brave! 🙈🔥 Huge shoutout to the bartender, who made some fabulous drinks — seriously, some of the best cocktails I’ve had in Chattanooga. Our server was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. If you’re into finding cool local spots and great eats, like my photos and follow along for more food adventures! 🍤🍹🐘✨ #RainThaiBistro #ChattanoogaEats #PadThaiPerfection #SpiceYourWay #SushiAndCocktails #FoodieAdventures #FollowForMore

Good food but concerning lack of detail from the service. The waiter put my order in wrong. I am allergic to pineapple and I ended up getting a curry with pineapple chunks all in it. I bit into one thinking it was a potato. Even after spitting it out immediately my tongue and throat were tingling and burning. I went back to the bar told them about the mistake, they took the dish and brought me the one I’d ordered very quickly. I didn’t expect much but no one from the restaurant, not even the waiter, verbally acknowledge or apologized for putting me in such a compromising situation. There was an epi pen on hand just in case so I wasn’t overly worried about me. It was concerning to me that such a serious situation wasn’t acknowledged. I don’t care about getting wrong food, it happens, I care that the restaurant didn’t seem to be bothered. I didn’t have a serious reaction this time but what about next time, or another person with a more severe allergy. I didn’t make a big stink because I already felt like the center of attention with my group and didn’t want to cause a scene but would have appreciated someone from the restaurant making sure I was ok and acknowledging the incident and their efforts to prevent these things...

The food was delicious! My friend and I enjoyed everything we ate. We sat in the rain room and it was lovely atmosphere. However, our server Tim R, was a nightmare. My friend had him before and had already found him distasteful due to some strange remarks about her skintone and we were disappointed to have him again. He continuously referred to us as “girls” (we are both grown adults) and spoke down to us. His explanation of the menu was overblown and confusing. He didn’t seem to actually be listening to the questions we asked, talking about different menu items than the one we were trying to order. When our food arrived, we were nearly out of drinks. My friend had to track him down for chopsticks. We did not get refills until the end of the meal. Then, at the end, he took forever to get us boxes and checks. After we paid, he thought it appropriate to share his hours and how much he makes. Maybe just a suggestion to Tim if he reads this; from one server to another, you’ll make more money by being a better server not just working 60 hours a week. Will be back but will be sure to request...
