The reservation process was seamless using the Marriott Bonvoy app. The rates were competitive, better in fact, than similarly located hotels. I strongly recommend reserving through Marriott because there were options such as high/low floor, room near an elevator, extra pillows (foam or feather), extra towels, etc.
Upon arrival, checking in was a breeze. Again, that can be done on the app an hour or more before your arrival (check in opens at 6 pm) with the option for a wireless key. We decided to use a conventional key card, though.
We were on the 6th of 7 floors. There are 2 elevators, but we never waited longer than a minute or so for the elevator.
Our room was spacious with faux wood flooring throughout except around the bed, which was carpet. There's a kitchenette in the room complete with a few dishes, a Keurig (with a small selection of coffee and tea), a mini fridge, microwave, and filtered tap water.
The room also features a closet with 3 drawers, space to hang clothes, an iron and ironing board, and a safe. The room also has wall mounted shelves on both sides of the bed and outlets directly above. There's a TV, 2 chairs, and lamps galore.
The bathroom is spacious as well with a walk-in shower that has Pharmacopoeia soap and shampoo/conditioner dispensers. The soap smells lovely, btw. The shower head is adjustable and high (tall folks rejoice). The mirror has lighting built into it, so it's essentially a large, fogless makeup mirror.
Other amenities that we didn't explore were the pool and outdoor seating that are both on the first floor. There's a bar and lounging area as well as a small selection of products to purchase (snacks, Pepto, wine, etc) in the lobby. We didn't visit those, so I can't give any insight into them.
Unexpected features included a dog hydration station at the front door and a people hydration and snack station just inside the front doors (water and fruit). There's also an automatic coffee machine that offers multiple types of drinks.
There is a complementary breakfast, but it wasn't anything stellar. The fresh item choices were scrambled or fried eggs and pancakes. These were made to order. Additionally, there were multiple stations around that had things such as toast and bagels, cereal, yogurt, and beverages.
This is a family and dog friendly hotel. While we saw lots of children and a few dogs, we only heard them at breakfast. Other hotels should take a page out of their playbook! There was minimal noise to be heard in our room. I'm very thankful for that!

Read moreDon’t let the one star ratings fool you. The location, staff and hotel is very accommodating! Read the details and understand you just can’t please all people. I’m very picky on where I sleep and security is my top priority. I felt safe and slept well!
First the staff! Chris, Terrell, Melissa, Isabel and Jose thank you for being so friendly and helpful during my multiple stay(S)!
The front desk was very professional and always had a smile waiting when I entered. I can’t recall 2 of the ladies names but rest assured that everyone I came in contact with including housekeeping were super amazing.
I was on the patio area sitting on a hard chair and Jose offered me a pillow to sit on. He was busy cleaning and thought enough of me to make me comfortable! Thank you!!
There was also a storm one day and I stopped by to ask about the plan in the event of a tornado and a lady in the cutest heels immediately told me where to go if something happened. She even went into full details about why certain things were put in place! Anyway that’s going above and beyond! Especially unknowingly speaking to someone with astraphobia. Thank you!
For breakfast Isabel always had a cheerful demeanor and she made the best omelettes!! The breakfast selection was great and very accommodating for small kids as well.
Chris assisted me with multiple things even coming up to let me in my room because I was using the keycard wrong and was locked out smh. Thanks for being patient and kind!
Terrell assisted me with getting checked in earlier because of an early flight! I appreciate you treating your guests with a sense of urgency and politeness.
The rooms were spotless, spacious and cozy! I’ve stayed here multiple times for a reason and this was a major part of it.
Location- yes there is traffic and no you can’t walk to anything but you can Uber or drive less than a mile and have ALL OF YOUR NEEDS MET. There’s tons of stores for shopping and plenty of restaurants to select from. This is a heavy populated area so do your homework if you don’t have transportation.
Flying in? The airport is a short ride from the airport.
Overall this hotel is...
Read moreElement Hotel Chattanooga, TN - A Mixed Experience My recent stay at the Element Hotel in Chattanooga, TN, presented a blend of positive aspects and significant disappointments, primarily concerning the dining experience.
On the positive side, the hotel itself is commendably well-kept, reflecting a commitment to cleanliness and maintenance. Our room was very nice, and the bathrooms were spotless, which is always appreciated. The beds were notably comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, though I was a bit surprised that my rewards member status wasn't acknowledged during check-in.
Unfortunately, the in-house dining experience significantly detracted from our stay. We opted to eat at the hotel to save time, hoping for convenience, but it ended up costing us valuable work time in the evening due to extensive waits and issues. The bartender, while seemingly doing his best, appeared overwhelmed even with just five guests.
Our food order was a series of unfortunate events:
After a 30-minute wait, we received the wrong meal.
It took another 30 minutes for the correct meal to arrive.
My hamburger was served without lettuce and tomato. When I requested them, they were never delivered.
The fries accompanying the meal were cold.
Mozzarella sticks, ordered as an appetizer, arrived a full 15 minutes after our main courses were finished, and they were dry, hard, and cold.
The bartender expressed regret and mentioned he would have comped our meal, but stated he lacked the authority since we had already paid upfront. This was particularly frustrating given that we witnessed other guests receiving complimentary meals for similar issues. It strongly appeared that the kitchen staff was struggling with basic food preparation and order management.
While the hotel's physical amenities and front desk service were commendable, the poor dining experience was a major letdown and unfortunately impacted our overall impression...
