Read moreThis has to be the worst diner experience in my life. We decided to stop by Denny's for Veteran's Day. I figured since this location is farther away from JBLM, it might be less of a wait to get breakfast. The restaurant was busy, and I did not mind a reasonable wait. We were seated after a few minutes of waiting.
A waitress led us to an empty table, which was still dirty to her surprise. She wiped the table off, but did not completely clean it free of grease and crumbs. She left immediately after we were seated and we did not see another waitress until 10 minutes later. Another waitress came by and took our drink orders, and since we had been waiting a while, we were ready to place our food order. I ordered my Veteran's Grand Slam and my partner(not a veteran) ordered an omlete. A few minutes later, we received our drinks. We waited for about 30 minutes and saw other veterans get their food, finished, and left. We figured maybe they were busy and are behind so we didn't nag a waitress. Sadly, no one came by to check on us until later.
We did not think anything was wrong until an elderly couple was seated near us, placed their orders, and received their food before us. By this time, we have already been seated without food for almost an hour. The waitress who took our order finally came by and said the kitchen was backed and assured our order would be coming out any moment. After a few minutes, I knew something wasn't right. We decided that if they haven't cooked our meals, we would just pay for our coffee and leave. Waiting for a meal for almost an hour was ridiculous, and we were not in the mood anymore, even if my meal was free.
I walked up to the cash register and explained to the cashier about how long we waited and we would just like to pay for the coffee and leave. The cashier then verified our order, and to everyone's surprise, there wasn't even a ticket placed for our order. He explained they've been busy and this was the 4th time they've lost an order. He did not sound apologetic at all and seemed somewhat more defensive. He said if we wanted to leave, we don't have to pay for the coffee since there wasn't even an order placed. We left immediately.
I can understand mistakes and it was surely busy for Veteran's Day, but customer service could have been better. The cashier did not try to rectify the situation by being apologetic and placing a priority order for us, or even comping my partner's meal. I feel like I have been shafted on Veteran's Day thanks to my...
Read moreWhen I saw the check, I gulped realizing that I had just spent $70 dollars on food that niether me, my 70 yeat old mother and my 26 year old daughter barely could try to eat. Coffee old but hot still. Very bitter. Toast: chewy. #pancakes had hard pieces other some crap on em. Bacon raw and tasted like plastic. Sausage literally tasted like an early grave if I had a second bite. Eggs almost raw. My mom's omlette used canned tomatoes and powdered egg taste. My daughter literally threw up mintues after leaving the restaurant, and as I'm writing this review, I too feel sick to my stomach. The hashbrowns were hard and covered in grease. I thought maybe the food would be out of this world because how significantly the prices rose since I last had Dennys. The food was out of this world, alright. Because I literally feel like we went to the depths of hell and it was out torture. The food was what nightmares are made from. The food was the worse tasting, worse prepared food I've ever tasted. The chef should be fired and or trained to cook food. Both me and my daughter could have cooked the food that was served to us, way better than what the chef decided to flop on our plates, today. Heed my warning if you have any sense of taste or smell stir clear away from this place. BTW my hashbrowns also smelled like a dirty wet old rag. I'm not exaggerating at all. Eat at your own risk!!!! Only good thing was a waitress was an absolute gem. And so sweet and friendly. But everything...
