Excellent menu. It’s almost hard to decide what you want to eat. The Table side guacamole is a favorite (maybe one of the best around). It’s hard to pick a favorite from the menu because every time you try something different, it becomes a new favorite! The fajitas are one of our favorites. They are loaded with flavor from their “secret marinade”(I want that recipe!), the good sized portions are enough that you won’t walk away hungry (two can split an order, but you won’t want to). If You love Tacos, then you can’t go wrong with their Street style tacos. There are twelve different selections to choose from, all amazing, with the Maui Tacos being a personal favorite. The marinated grilled Chicken, pineapple pico, mixed with the melted jack cheese, caramelized onions, chipotle crema & queso fresco gives them an amazing sweet and savory flavor that just works. Of course, with a name like “Tequila’s”, the drinks better be good, especially the margaritas, and they are. No slacking on the alcohol here. We’ve been coming here for about two years now and can say that we haven’t had a bad meal or a bad experience. The staff has always been friendly, attentive and accommodating. On the weekends though, you can count on dinner time being busy and can expect a 15 - 20 minute wait for a table. The bar is first come, first serve. After visiting Tortilla Flats in Merrimack NH for MANY years we were very happy to try Tequila's Mexican Grill located in our neighborhood. Our party of 5 was seated promptly for early dinner - 4:30pm Sunday afternoon. The service was friendly but a little slow initially - perhaps the full complement of servers had yet to arrive. We were hungry after the game and enjoyed the complimentary chips and black bean based salsa. Classic guacamole prepared to order was fresh, and flavored with plenty of lime and cilantro. No problem to have the jalapeno peppers on the side. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their well prepared and tasty food. Our choices included: Pork Carnitas, Chiles Rellenos, and chicken quesadillas. The accompanying rice, serviced with many dishes, was a standout! Our waiter recommended the flan for dessert - we ordered 2 to share. Delicious caramel flavor and excellent consistency made this the perfect ending to our wonderful meal. Our group did have a few suggestions for improvement; The house sangria could have had more wine and fruit - we'd rate this a 3. The grilled corn appetizer while tasty would have benefited greatly from additional time on the grill, enhancing the flavor. Tequila's coffee service at the end of the meal was weak and watery. Had dinner here tonight with my family of four. We have been frequent flyers at this tequilas for a couple years now. Tonight though stood out from our past experiences, and has since changed our perspective on this establishment. When dinner was served to us, our waitress Sofia informed us that my daughter’s Maui Tacos were still being cooked, and that the wait would only be 5 minutes. So, my family ate while my daughter waited for her meal. After waiting for over 5 minutes, the dish finally arrived. When I asked our waitress Sofia for a reason why there was a delay in serving my daughter, Sofia said “I dont know. Probably because they had to pull the frozen chicken from the freezer.” Which she did not forget to say with an attitude. I would have understood if the waitress first of all did not have an attitude and second of all had instead said something along the lines of…. “Actually, I am not too sure why this happened, but I apologize for the delay and I will make sure to inform my manager.” Moral of the story is that we were extremely disappointed with the service. Food should never be served separately. Never make a customer wait, and if there is going to be a delay make sure the waitress understands how to properly and honestly excuse the kitchen and inform a manager. We wont be back here...
