Horrible horrendous service! This is our go to pizza place and unfortunately because of tonight I will never order from them again. I have been coming to the brown jug since I was a little girl. I ordered delivery tonight through the slice app at 7:08pm. Once it arrived we realized our order came incorrectly. We ordered a pizza with extra cheese and half pepperoni as our guest does not eat meat. I contacted the slice app to let them know about the mix up and they stated that the brown jug was sorry and would send over a replacement pizza right away. Perfect. No problem. At 8:52 I contacted slice again to get a refund on the pizza as it had been almost an hour since receiving the wrong pizza. So, almost two hours in total after originally ordering. They advised me that the restaurant refused to issue me a refund on the pizza as they already made the replacement and the driver was on the way. I explained I no longer wanted the pizza but they still refused to refund me after their mistake. I explained that I will not be taking the pizza as their customer service was horrendous and I couldnāt believe they would treat a long standing customer this way. The delivery driver showed up at approximately 9:35 and left the pizza at my front door even though I had already advised the restaurant I didnāt want it any longer. You think if you mess up a customers food with dietary restrictions that they would be on the top of your priority list and not have to wait 2.5 hours for their correct food. Ridiculous. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with an establishment. Definitely do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting The Brown Jug in Chelsea, and let me tell you, it was a pretty good time! This place knows how to serve up some fantastic pizza that'll have you coming back for more. What really stood out to me was that the pizza wasn't too greasy like most other pizza joints. It was just right, making it easy to indulge without feeling like you needed to take a nap afterwards.
It's part bar and part restaurant, with separate sections for both. So, whether you're in the mood for a laid-back drink at the bar or a sit-down meal in the restaurant area, they've got you covered. It's a cool setup that offers the best of both worlds.
The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. We were waiting for a while before somebody served us, but our waitress (Marilyn I believe) was kind enough to give us Parmesan fries on the house because of this. We really appreciated her kindness and attentiveness.
Overall, if you're in Chelsea and looking for a casual spot to grab some delicious pizza, The Brown Jug is worth checking out. The food hits the spot without being overly greasy, and the laid-back vibe makes it a great place to hang out. Whether you're in the mood for a slice or a whole pie, you won't be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off, "frontage" needs a serious face-lift. Bete identification and ability to spot it. It's non-descript. Food was very tasty. Our server - who appeared perhaps to be wearing several hats at least on this day - was very friendly, skilled. However, some observations on our experience ... we stood at the door for several minutes. No sign to seat yourself, no attention by any staff. Eventually, a gentleman who had been darting back & forth from kitchen to what I presume is the bar area finally came over and asked how many and then told us we could seat ourselves. š This is my reason for saying "many hats." This person was our server. Receiving our meal at brunch time with only 2 other tables with guests as well as bar patrons. We were given 2 menu and 1 drinks menu - we were a party of 3. So I will be clear - I do not blame BJ nor employees for any of what sounds like bad review. I blame our government. Getting employees, product etc not easy. Vote smarter. Good luck BJ and staff and thank you for doing your best, and for surviving despite the evil government agenda determined to ruin you. God Bless....
