One star is one star too many. My wife and I went here after wanting to try it out for weeks and finally stopped in on a day it was open. Initially we thought the prices were high and thought it was weird they had hamburgers and garlic bread but after seeing all the people going in and out for over a month I figured it had to be good. My wife went to the front door to order while I changed a diaper in the back of the car. when she came back she had one of those plastic disc that light up when your order is ready. four tacos and a burrito were $30. After the diaper change i watched two men wearing Gordon Food Service coats leave out of the side door. This gave me a big clue as to what I just paid for. we waited, and waited, and waited. after 30+ minutes of not hearing anything I went to the window and handed the disc to the man behind the window who instantly handed me a paper bag of cold food. "This thing never went off" i said to him. he looked at it with a puzzled look and set it aside. later at home I opened my plastic container with a wet burrito inside that had a "house" sauce that tasted like someone had mixed ketchup and Tobasco sauce. The ground beef was the usual mystery meat you find at Taco Bell or a dive bar with roaches crawling on the floor. while I ate my "food" I looked across the table to see my wife crying while trying to eat a fish taco that would fail the health food standards of a local elementary school. the fish was cut up frozen battered fish that had been microwaved and felt like rubber. nobody should ever be seen crying while eating a taco. Tacos equal happiness unless they are prepared by a guy named Chico. The California street tacos, while modeled after traditional Mexican street tacos, live up to their name being a cheapened weak version that falls apart, has little meat, and isn't enough food to fill the stomach of a two year old. four ingredients is difficult to screw up but they somehow succeeded. I will never go to Chico's again and considering the lockdown I'm surprised they have survived this long. I guess the conservatives are right, Covid isn't as deadly as the...
Read moreWe decided to try a new place around Cadillac for dinner. To start off, the "hot salsa" was tomato paste with jalapeno blended into it, and the "sweet salsa" was tomato paste with added sugar. The chips weren't made fresh and tasted like they came from save a lot; cheap. My husband got the "fajita platter" where he was only able to choose 1 meat; which we choose chicken. The chicken was barely flavored and mixed with some green peppers and onion. My boys got the pork tamales and they were dry and crumbly. My daughter got "the great tostada" which was basically taco salad in an edible tortilla bowl. I just got 4 hardshell beef tacos and we ordered a side of fried cauliflower and Mexican rice and beans. The Mexican rice wasn't even real Mexican rice, it was white rice topped with paprika and the refried beans tasted burnt. The ONLY good thing we got out of our $84 meal was this green hot salsa stuff they make in house. That was PHENOMENAL. Which is the reason for the 3 stars. I couldn't give them more because I was disappointed in the rest of our food. Definitely not authentic Mexican. We have it a try but won't be returning until they get people in there that can actually make...
Read moreMe and my wife have been going here 1-2 times every month or so for years. All ways been very happy with the food. But we called today for a carryout we aren't happy at all. I don't know if it's because of covid-19 or what but the burrito sauce was bland and watery my wife's burrito had basically no beans in it. Mine had none. She Ordered the large chicken and bean burrito with lettuce and tomato, I Ordered the large chicken bean and rice with lettuce and tomato. Ordered 2 sweet sauce 2 hot sauce and sour cream. We got 2 sweet 2 picadigo and 2 green white sauce that was basically water. The only thing right was our large chips and cheese deluxe. I hope that they fix this when all of this is over.. And if they changed the sauce I hope they aren't putting lard in it now. My wife doesn't eat pork. That's why we don't eat at la senioreta they put lard in all the sauces. Be sad to lose this great little...
