Spider Sushi at Harrison — Restaurant in Cherry Valley Township

Normally I would always give a 5 star review. Spider is one of our absolute favorite restaurants however after our experience today we will never be returning again. The food was good as usual but the waitress was rude and had an attitude with us from the time we walked in the door asking for a table for 8 adults and 1 child. (We are a polite, well behave group that has basically no special requests for our order). We did request the bill be split by couples and attempted to point out which couples were together. She had a snippy response. We had to wait FOREVER for our drinks, for condiments, and for the bill. We ordered a round of Power Shots for all the adults, they were missing an ingredient so the manager offered to discount them (a discount of about $5 per couple). She failed to apply the discount to our bill. When we brought that and the entire experience to her attention all she said was "sorry about your bad experience". SHE was the entire reason for our bad experience. I'm not sure who peed in her Cheerios this morning that made her so grumpy. Just ordered takeout after avoiding this location and preferring the Perryville.... what a mistake. Never ordering from this location again. We ordered the matrix, sumo, & batman rolls along with gyoza. To begin the order took 20 minutes, I arrived shortly before the 20 minute window but sat and waited for my food for over 15 minutes. The hostess came back over to ask my name, I told her, and she apologized because it had been sitting there ready the entire time. While waiting I heard one person call saying they didn't receive their entire order so I made sure to quickly glance to make sure we got everything we ordered which we did. Once I got home and opened it to reveal a mountain of mayonnaise topping each roll, disgusting. Not to mention the sumo roll was missing the variety of raw fish that it should come with.

The Mai Thais are strong - but you wouldnt know that from drinking them, quality stuff! I am in the throws of having one while writing this review, so please bear with me. I thought going to see the Nicholas Conservatory's "Life of butterflies" exhibit today in Rockford was going to be the most magical part of my day, but that was before I had experienced the wonderland of Spider Sushi at Harrison. This place has got it all: mandalas, delicious cocktails, top 40 MTV music videos playing on tvs, while OTHER top 40 songs play on the speakers, and what I can only describe as "burrito maki". Wish you could have sushi rolls the size of a good quality corn-on-the-cob? Or rolls named after superheros? Want ALL the sauces??? Look no further! They are definitely worth your money! I love this place so much after just one visit that quitting my job to move to Rockford to be closer is a very real possibility at this...
