Happy Wok — Restaurant in Rockford Township

This was the first time we ordered food from this restaurant. Ordered delivery service. The chicken chop suey didn't have any bean sprouts and is made with green bell pepper in a brown sauce. Not your "typical" chicken chop suey. Called the restaurant to tell them we got something other than chicken chop suey. Was told that's how they make their chicken chop suey and that their menu indicates what it consists of. Didn't have a menu of theirs because we were first time customers placing our order by telephone. Their "online" menu doesn't detail their version of chicken chop suey. Suggested that perhaps when people order this dish, they explain their version of chicken chop suey when people order it and/or explain it on their website. The person we spoke with didn't seem to care about the suggestion and just said "sorry". We were not looking for a refund or an offer to give us something else or even a future "freebee". Just wanted to let the restaurant know we were disappointed. We are not opposed to trying something new/different. But would like to know that the food ordered is what we expect. The other food...

If i could give negative 5 stars for the worst customer service i have ever experienced! Spoke with the owner on the phone who had attitude from the start of the greeting as she answered the phone took my order and card number and hung up the phone but ther order was for delivery so i call back to ask if she wanted the address and she instantly got defensive. So i ask to speak with someone above her she then stated she is the manager. I ask do you think its appropriate to treat paying customers that way and she responded with i give you two free egg rolls. No i just want to be treated properly and not bribed. 1 hour later passes by no delivery i call back because my card was charged and the response i get is we havent made your food... and then get placed on brief hold for owner to come back on line and get very nasty with me. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE THE OWNER DOESNT CARE ABOUT HER PAYING CUSTOMERS JUST...

Old review: The food was okay. However, the employees were not all wearing masks, especially the lady behind the counter. There was clearly a sign on the door saying that masks are required but half the customers didn't have them on. What do you expect when the employees didn't have them on? I will not be returning to this establishment.

Edit 11/6/21: This place continues to go down hill. We ordered food from here about two weeks ago and I noticed that everything fried had a bad smell. Sort of like a burned or cigarette odor. When I tasted the food, the same smell/taste hung around in my mouth afterward. I passed it off as maybe one bad experience. But today we decided to give it another shot.
