My Place Bar And Grill - Rockford IL — Restaurant in Rockford Township

So yesterday I had eaten nothing but a bagel at 730am.. Got carried away with the day and didnt eat, so knowing the burgers here are pretty good and cheap, thought I would just get one on my way home around 9pm. The man who answered the phone was a total dbag right from the start.. "Hi do you guys do take out?" .." UMMM YEA, We do take out?" Then from there I had to basically teach this idiot how to write down an order and then ask how long it would take, etc. all the meanwhile restraining myself from telling this guy to stick it up his a$$. Ended up not going in because of that guy, and went to Culvers where the 15 year old on the other end of the drive through took my order without any error or issue (wow they must be a prodigy to this guy).

Otherwise this place has decent food and cheap prices, but the service is a bunch of hillbillies for the most part who truly dont care about making money and the crowd is a bit sketchy as well. Sorry to the owners for this bad review, but you should be on top of your staff more.

Okay, the vibe is that of a bar with slot machines and darts, and most of the food is typical bar fare. BUT. There are a couple Indian food choices on the menu; carryovers from when the owner was trying to fuse Indian food with a tavern atmosphere. That's what I ate, and let me tell you, the Indian food the owner made for me was well worth the trip. It was phenomenal. The owner was also great to talk to; I came at a weird time and the place was mostly empty, so we had a nice long conversation while I ate at the bar. He owns a full Indian restaurant out in the suburbs, which I fully intend to go to the next time I'm in town.

If the food I ate was any indication, I'm sure the more "traditional" bar fare is delicious, too, but I just need it to be known that this place unexpectedly...

Very disappointed. I'm new in town and was looking for a spot to call my own... "My Place" right?!? Seemed like a place I could sit down and get comfortable in but the bartender would not accept my valid state I'D. I'm 38 years old, and her excuse was that the picture looked like an older version of me... I won't go back, and the bartenders ok with that, but management shouldn't be. I'm a loyal customer that works hard and enjoys spending money in the places I'm welcome too- I bring myself, friends, and family out to enjoy good food and drinks in places that welcome me.
