I really wanted to like this place—I truly did—but I was deeply disappointed. The experience fell far below expectations.

To start, the food was mediocre at best. The wings, in particular, were absolutely terrible. For a bill that totaled $75 for two people, I expected far better quality. Not only was the food overpriced, but I also left hungry.

The service was equally frustrating. We waited far too long after being seated for anyone to acknowledge us. Despite a server walking to every table around us, she completely ignored us. When I finally managed to get her attention and said we were ready to order and needed drinks, she rudely snapped, "I'm not your waitress." That level of rudeness is unacceptable in any dining establishment.

Thankfully, when our actual waitress, Amber, arrived, the experience improved. Amber was attentive and did her best to make up for the earlier issues. I do appreciate her efforts, and I suspect there was a mix-up in assigning tables. However, this doesn’t excuse the initial lack of service or the dismissive attitude we encountered.

Sadly, Amber's good service wasn’t enough to overcome the poor food quality, inflated prices, and disorganized, unwelcoming atmosphere. For $85, I expected a satisfying meal and a positive dining experience. I...

The Cherry Pit is a gem, and Cherryville is lucky to have it! My wife and I both tried out burgers on our first visit. I had the Pit Burger, and my wife had the Mushroom Swiss Burger. Both were cooked perfectly, two patties of delicious seasoned and juicy beef, fresh toppings, with soft and hearty buns. The fries were hot and crispy. I upgraded to corn nuggets for $2 extra as my side item, and they were sweet, crispy outside and creamy inside. We also sampled the pimento cheese appetizer, which was a generous portion of homemade cheese spread with warm pita points for dipping. My wife also enjoyed a spiked Cherry Lemon Sun Drop, the perfect cocktail for Cherryville. Our server Halle was friendly, efficient and attentive to just the right extent. The vibe in this place is great, with a beautiful interior, full bar, and outside seating also available with regular live music on the back patio. We'll definitely go back. Other small towns in the area should take note of what Cherryville is doing right, the Cherry Pit being a jewel in the crown of that...

Third visit so here’s a summary review. First time was spot on in all departments. Second time was noticeably off but thought it might be a fluke. Third visit and I’m thinking the first time was the fluke. Adjacent table had to get a manager to discuss service (rather lack of service). I had a different server but same problem. Time was 4:30-5:30 and most of the time the servers were congregated at a table near the pickup window but orders sat there while they conversed. Our table orders would have been great had they been delivered hot. The atmosphere was definitely off … like something had happened and nobody really wanted to work in the dining area. The check was dropped off halfway through the meal which was odd. When we were finished, I waved my credit card as the server walked by several times to no avail. Finally got another server’s attention and she took care of it. Was really hoping we had found a gem to visit but not...

So excited for The Cherry Pit to open! What a wonderful place for our little town. We have eaten here several times and everything is delicious. Our favorites are The Pit Burger, sprouts, spinach dip, and mac and cheese. Super friendly staff and they are very accommodating. The bar seats are so comfortable, you could stay all night. They have thought of everything to make this a great place to dine! Ample parking available and the outdoor patio and fire pits are gonna be perfect for football and fall weather! Enjoy a stroll down mainstreet after dinner, you won't be disappointed!

A small place at an intersection downtown, it is very welcoming, with an immediate reception by a very friendly person. During my dinner, the person that seated me, actually kept checking with me, periodically. My server, Halle, was at the top of her game. She was very engaged in making me feel welcome, even spoke of her town and its fine points. She made sure the dinner was to my liking and even suggested items that she thought I'd like. I was not steered wrong. All in all, this was a great experience and I look forward to returning in the near future.
