The food is great, I’m never disappointed with the quality of food, but the service today was super off. I went through the drive thru to get breakfast this morning before I fly to my home state to attend a funeral. The speaker was super loud but what annoyed me when they cut me off in the middle of my order right before I specified what bread type I wanted my breakfast sandwich on. I put in my order and drove up to the window where the girl slammed the window open said “hey” and yanked my card from my hands. Im extremely soft spoken and I’m always polite to food workers because I also work in the food business, and I know that you’re not always going to be on your game every day, so aside from putting in my order I hadn’t even had a chance to greet her. She slammed the window shut swiped my card, and handed it back with an annoyed “here” and handed me my drink without another word. She handed me my donuts, and then I looked in and saw who I assume is the cook dangling my bag with the rest of my order over her head like people used to do to me in high school because I was short. Both of them saw me, and the food dangling continued for another minute before she finally grabbed my food and handed it to me. There was only one other car behind me in the drive thru, so luckily it wasn’t too busy, but that was still super unprofessional. I get enjoying working with people, I don’t mind the fact that they seemed happy, but had I been running a little late I would’ve been super PO’d I don’t even think the girl working at the drive thru window was wearing a name tag. If she was it wasn’t visible which is against the rules in most companies. I don’t have a lot of time before I have to spend all day running around airports, and instead of relaxing and eating my breakfast I...
Read moreSince this brand new Dunkin Donuts on Volvo Parkway in Chesapeake, Virginia is on my way to Indian River High School, I am often tasked with ordering food for students and colleagues. Educators are always holding meetings for clubs and activities or team building exercises, so it is essentially part of my weekly routine.
I was very happy for a brand new establishment that would not take me off my morning route, but I am not happy with the customer service. In particular, people like Savannah, who respond to any inquiries about a wrong order with nothing more than a blank stare.
Before working as an instructor, I spent my high school and college years paying bills by working in customer service. I am very familiar with customers who simply cannot be satisfied. However, I never stared coldly at a paying customer who inquired about a wrong order with a blank stare, before turning my back on him.
In addition, I have made several attempts to order the vegan option on the menu. It is always an inconvenience to the entire staff. They are perturbed with me because I am asking for a menu item that is either out of stock or prepared incorrectly. (Last night I was given a vegan sandwich with a croissant bun instead of the muffin that is advertised. I had to make a trip all the way back to the Dunkin Donuts shop last night and when I shared this with Savannah, she paused. Stared blankly...and then mumbled, "Isn't that what you ordered?" I explained the sandwich is advertised on the picture behind her with a muffin, and, without addressing me or the issue, she walked off...)
We're holding another meeting this morning to schedule a field trip with a group of 12th graders. I will not be stopping by the Dunkin Donuts on Volvo Parkway...
Read moreEvery time I go to this Dunkin, I regret it. Usually it’s the customer service. I understand wait times and being busy and I never complain about that, but if you are going to have a horrible attitude on top of that? It is unacceptable. I have had several instances where the food was burnt, they didn’t secure my coffee lids, they gave me the wrong drinks or just tried to tell me that I didn’t order something on the app even though I paid for it. I stopped going here for months and finally went today because I was in a hurry. I will say that the customer service was better, but the drink I got myself was god-awful. The powder wasn’t mixed in, it was sitting on top of the drink. They didn’t give me a straw either, I luckily had an extra in my car. I don’t understand paying $7 for a drink to look and taste like this (pics attached) I usually don’t even order for me, I order for an elderly couple and happened to get myself a drink today. Otherwise Dunkin wouldn’t get my business. Do yourself a favor and go to the store on North...
