Honey and Hooch was a 10/10 experience! Amazing food, drinks and vibes. Definitely a little dark so excuse the quality lol But are you adding Honey and Hooch to your next date night list? #osmopocket #foodreview #contentcreator #757 #chesapeake #honeyandhooch

Fantastic tapas joint! Service and food truly outstanding, great atmosphere, excellent for date night. Our waiter Jeff was very attentive and helpful. Sadly have to dock a star for the somewhat disappointing cocktails, especially at their price point, but otherwise everything was just about perfect! Apparently owned by the same owner(s) as Kapers, which recently closed, and also had a great tapas-style menu. At the time of our visit, Hooch & Honey had recently opened; maybe they will fine-tune their cocktail offerings, they're certainly already on point with their food! Kentucky Stinger was the best cocktail we tried, well-balanced bourbon, maybe a little light on passion fruit flavor, very nice egg white foam, and Szechuan seasoning on the glass made for a unique flavor experience. Martini La Poire was disappointingly light on advertised pear, melon, and elderflower, mostly just heavy on lemon. Deconstructed wedge salad was fantastic - delicious bacon, candied sesame walnut, pickled red onion, drop peppers, and tahini ranch come together exceptionally. Blackened goat cheese excellent as well, toasted goat cheese outstandingly complemented by perfectly rich berry red wine compote, and very nice on crostini. Sicilian guacamole a very unique and flavorful take, containing chopped up sundried tomatoes, olives, and capers. Wagyu sliders and lamb lollipops perfectly prepared and flavorful as well, juicy and savory, cooked to the ideal temperature. Also perfectly cooked was the scallops, spicy chorizo a touch overpowering, but nicely balanced by mango. Gentleman and Roaring Ginger cocktails a little lackluster, on the light side if that is your preference. Cucumber ice in the Gentleman is unique and aromatic. Cheesecake trio of berry lemon, Reese's, and New York strawberry was the perfect punctuation to a great meal, and came with complimentary French press coffee and the cutest rock candy sweetener!

Ive never been so disinterested in a restaurant before after reading the negative reviews and this post, I don't intend to visit this establishment during my visit and I've encouraged my family to avoid it as well. Nothing like charging large amount for food and drinks yet expecting your lead employees to work for a small amount of money and the "reward" of being an underpaid lead host or hostess. This is giving "work for exposure" vibes and clearly this person wants to take advantage of the elderly like they are a 13yr old wanting to baby sit or mow a lawn. How you gonna charge $420 for 4 people and then not pay your staff enough to not need them to work "just so they can get out of the house"? Editing to add: Judging from your responses to your other poor reviews I can only assume that you are the type of person who lacks any accountability. You don't make accommodations for diet needs and you accuse people of making fake accounts. Here you are telling me that I only have a snippet of the conversation in my screenshot, I would really love for you to respond with what I left out of this post so that we can clear the air here. Though going off your other reviews, I doubt you have any interest in doing so and your only interest is to hide the fact that you are underpaying your staff and overcharging for your food. Good luck with your business, in this economy people can't really afford to settle for less than they deserve.

Our server was respectful and nice. I personally feel she did her best to do her job. She’s someone I’d likely hire if I had my own establishment. So, she is a keeper. I also liked the truffle fries and my drink was strong (big plus for me).

Now, onto the rest of the experience. We frequent a lot of establishments in this area and a majority of them hold true to their mission when it comes to what they serve. Not to mention, their prices are typically comparable to the presentation and taste of what of they serve. We are pretty easygoing when it comes to accepting that not all restaurants will live up to what you hoped and we cut our losses and don’t go back. We won’t leave a review unless the service was utterly horrible to the point it deserves a negative review. That’s been so far few and between so far. However, I’m leaving this review because anyone reading this deserves to know what they will be getting when visiting this establishment and isn’t caught off guard.

We were with a large party and most of us ordered a cocktail and a lot of small plate items. Presentation was ok on most of the dishes and a couple of them tasted ok as well. They weren’t able to take any ingredients out of some of the dishes. That’s ok too. However, the flavor was basic in everything we ate. My husband and I had the Sicilian guacamole, truffle fries, and deviled eggs. The guacamole’s flavors didn’t taste well together to me and the presentation was basic at best. The deviled eggs definitely had a piece of crunchy bacon on it vice the prosciutto that’s noted on the menu and the presentation was again basic and looked more like repented eggs. The fries were good and flavorful but I guess they thought sprinkling some spices on top was good enough for the presentation because it was in a pretty dish.

There were six cocktails ordered for our table (could have been more but I can for sure discuss at least six of them) and only one of them had basic fruit peels as a garnish. The rest of the drinks came to the table as the mixed drink only with zero and I mean zero garnish making drinks you order at a bar look like luxury. Now, you may think “what’s wrong with that” or “at least you got what you ordered”. Yeah, I’d probably say the same, but for the price of everything on that menu, they need to do better with the presentation of those drinks.

Our bill for four of the people in the party was approximately $420. Now, I wouldn’t find any issue with that amount if I felt the taste and presentation of most of it was decent. However, I’ve been to way more fiscally conservative establishments whose food, drinks, and atmosphere were well worth the prices Honey and Hooch markets and this just doesn’t meet the mark.

Now, you may also be thinking why we didn’t send our items back. It was a birthday celebration and we always go in understanding any risks involved with doing what we can to ensure our friends enjoy their evening as best possible. Though everyone at our table felt the same, it was better to enjoy the company we had and move on with our night rather than overshadowing it with any negativity that could have potentially escalated into something unnecessarily. It is what it is.

So, to sum it up, I’m not sure that this establishment has properly vetted their business plan as it pertains to what they serve, how they price each item, AND how said items are presented. If this place wants to continue to survive in a saturated area and market, they need to either slash their prices if they want to continue to offer what’s currently on their menus or go back to the drawing board on the foods and drinks they offer/serve and develop a new and improved plan.

P. S. I’ve noticed that whoever is in charge of reading and responding to reviews from this restaurant likes to be very unprofessional to those leaving negative reviews. However, I hope they’re aware that in today’s society many people look to reviews of a company to determine their willingness to visit. So, petty responses to negative reviews can weigh heavier than the...

I want to start by saying that this is the first "upscale" dining establishment I've ever been to. This was a completely new and original experience for me; I was very excited about that reason. With all that being said, I'm very happy to say it far surpassed my wildest expectations.

I'll start with the food. I ordered the crispy half chicken and the blue crab rangoon egg rolls. The egg rolls were fantastic! They were prepared wonderfully, giving them a perfect crunch, and they did not skimp out on the filling either! Also, the black bean dragon sauce that accompanied the starter was the perfect balance of sweet and heat. It paired amazingly with the egg rolls. The crispy half chicken was a wonderful surprise as well! It truly lives up to the name and has some of the crispiest skin I've ever had on a baked chicken! But, they didn't have to sacrifice the tenderness and juiciness of the chicken itself for that crispy skin whatsoever. It was cooked perfectly, and you can't go wrong with that chimichurri sauce!

Now, I must talk about the amazing service! As soon as I walked in, I was met with the warmest and kindest greeting possible. I felt welcomed right off the bat! The lovely hostess Elyssa was beyond fantastic and walked my friend and me to our seats in a manner that was efficient but not rushed whatsoever! She also made sure that we were happy with the seats and settled before she departed. Plus, she recommended those amazing crab rangoon egg rolls to me, which was very sweet of her to do. The staff behind the bar was extremely present and ready to help. They always made sure my friend and I were enjoying ourselves and comfortable. The other fantastic staff member we encountered was our server, Danika. She delivered our food as kindly and respectfully as possible! It all felt extremely smooth and not overwhelming at all. Also, I had a few egg rolls leftover when it was all said and done, and Danika kindly boxed and bagged them up for me without me having to say anything. This place is the definition of knowing exactly the kind of experience your customers want!

Lastly, the decor and ambiance were out of this world. I wouldn't call myself an expert in interior design by any means, but whatever this fine establishment did, I absolutely adored it. It all felt so enticing and hypnotic in the best way possible. My friend and I could not stop looking around us, taking in the beautiful room around us. It had a super calm and quaint atmosphere, which made everything feel super relaxed.

Words can't begin to explain how much I loved my time dining at this wonderful establishment. I'm absolutely going to tell everyone I know about this experience and will definitely return in the future! Truly a pitch-perfect...
