Marco's responded promptly to my review. Problem is, they asked me to provide more detail via a "tellmarcos" link. I'm hoping that it was an auto reply (which should NEVER be the case on something like this). Does anyone who reads the original review (below) really think I could provide any further information? . . . I didn't think so either.
Well, so much for trying to be helpful. I went to the "tellmarcos" link and guess what. They have two gateways, one where you enter the order number from your visit; the other if you don't have an order number to provide. Both links yielded a 404 page error.
So, I'm hoping that a real live person at Marco's is reading this. The only other thing I can offer is that, on this particular visit, I placed an reorder of a pizza in the purchase history. They made the wrong pizza so I had to make two trips to the store and get no chicken (and they added mushroom which I never get). Mistakes happen and it's not the first time a pizza shop gets an order wrong (although they are notorious offenders in this regard). But make no mistake, the chicken issue needs to be addressed.
If I get another response similar to the last one, I'll copy and paste this review into Word and send it to the corporate office. Maybe someone there will bother to read it. First, I want to say that, in general, I've been really pleased with Marco's. Since moving to Chesapeake 15 months ago - and REALLY missing my favorite pizza shops in Pittsburgh - my wife and I have really enjoyed their pizza.
One "nit" that I have - and this is common among practically many pizza shops I've patronized over more than 20 years - is the chicken. If you order a pizza with pepperoni or sausage I never seem to feel cheated. Only on the chicken. Twice in the last 3 orders, my small pizza with chicken (6 cuts) has had fewer than a half dozen chunks of chicken. The largest piece was smaller than the last joint on my little finger. I was bad enough when chicken (and pizza) were less expensive. But I'm talking about a small pizza that cost over $20.
Even Arby's figured this one out back in 1964. Remember the kitchen staff weighing the roast beef for each sandwich. Why can't customers expect the same consideration on their pizza. This shouldn't be a guessing game and no customer (like me) should have to take their pizza home and open a back of Tyson grilled chicken breast strips to have 3 chunks of chicken per slice. Is this too much...
Read moreDisappointed with ordering from Marco's tonight. Been ordering for my family of 5 for a long time now so much so that we used to always get a 10 dollar reward every month. Took a break ordering after several orders through delivery were not good. When you order during the day time and get carryout it's truly the best pizza around but at night for delivery they ALWAYS mess something up or don't look at what is being asked to customize on the pizza. Tonight our pizza and sub didn't come like I ordered it yet again so nomore Marco's not for a while or ever again at night for delivery. I paid for extra cheese and it came regular. Also asked for extra pizza sauce, double crust toppers and a side of pizza sauce and surprise surprise didn't get not any of those things! The biggest issue was pizza wasn't cut properly, some big slices and some tiny ones but when you tried to pull it out wasn't cut all the way through. Sub was supposed to have mayo and light tomato, I got NO mayo and what seemed like extra tomatoes. Pizza was also just shy of being cold, kids didn't care for it and wouldn't eat the crust since both toppers and sauce to dip was missing. In this economy ordering pizza is a treat and that's why I'm disappointed that once again our order was made incorrectly! Night shift...
Read moreMy husband and I have been seeing Marco's commercials and commenting how good the pizza looks for months now. Today we finally decided to go try it out. When we arrived there were signs and writing all over the windows that there was no entry and to call to order. No problem, we went ahead and called and placed an order. The associate took our card number over the phone and said it would be 15-20min and they would bring the order out. After 45min, we were still waiting. My husband finally called to check on the status of our order and the associate hung up on him. When he called again, a different associate said there were no orders under our name. My husband said he had placed the order 45min prior, paid over the phone, and already told them we were outside waiting. The associate apologized and asked to put my husband on a brief hold to check on things, then hung up instead. Shortly after he came running out to inform us that there was a "screwup" on our light sauce pizza and the order would be out in five minutes. Nearly an hour after placing our order, our two pepperoni pizzas and one order of cheesy bread finally came out. This experience was absolutely ridiculous and we will...
