This place was recommended as a popular non-chain pancake and all place. Am glad I went. From the parking lot that overflowed, you just know this is the place to be for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Tip: there's extra lot to park right next to MCDonald's, just across the street. Upon entering, the entrance hallway is packed.
The host didn't have to take your name, it's like he was so experienced in knowing the order (and how many in your party) in which you came in to wait for your turn. I was a party of one, it only took about 7 minutes to be seated. I thought to myself that I must be squeezing into a corner to get a seat so quickly - but no, I got a typical 4-seat table by a bay window appointed with a house plant and a cute sign that shows you the heart of how this efficient place is run: you don't have to be crazy to work here, we'll train you.
In a way I could see as I waited to be served, everyone was busily and happily taking orders, checking seating plan, getting drinks from the fountain, going in and out of the kitchen, folding utensils in paper napkins - so efficient to cater to their faithful patrons. There was even a back room with additional seats big enough for a large group to have a party, wearing nice formal attire and bringing their own cupcakes to partake. This truly was a place humming with people who enjoy being there.
While I was quickly seated, the wait for my order took about 5 times longer BUT it was worth the wait. I ordered fried trout served with grits (with butter) and 2 eggs the way I want them- over hard. First observation when my order was served - they had my eggs the way I ordered them. Some places just don't get these basic things right. The trout didn't need to have salt because it was that fresh, perfectly fried. And the grits, they were perfect getting the slight saltiness from the butter. You feel the corn grittiness. The amount of grits was perfect and served separate to keep the trout so heavenly crispy and warm straight out of the kitchen.
Last but not least, the service was warm and friendly. My server Jodie even took time to place hot sauce and ketchup on my table while I waited. She was being very complimentary and engaged in nice chit chat as to make sure I didn't notice the long wait.
Over-all great food and great...

The variety of dishes offered on the menu is truly impressive, ranging from classic pancakes to soul food interpretations that are a treat for both the eyes and the palate. But, it's not just the food that made my visit memorable, a big part of the magic was due to the exceptional service i received.
My server, Tee, was an absolute gem. Right from the get-go, her bright personality and infectious energy added an extra sparkle to my dining experience. She was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent suggestions that helped me navigate through the tantalizing array of options. The food, too, was outstanding. The pancakes were fluffy and light, yet satisfyingly rich. The creative toppings and accompaniments were well-conceived and executed, complementing the pancakes beautifully without overpowering them. The quality of ingredients and the skill in preparation were evident in every bite.
Pancakes N Things has managed to create a dining experience that feels both cozy and exciting, a feat that can only be achieved through a perfect balance of great food, inviting ambiance, and exceptional service. It is a place that I will not only return to but also recommend highly to friends and family. Read moreI am particular when it comes to breakfast spots. I prefer locally-owned and operated diners as opposed to large chains. I love places that fit into the "Goldilocks" category: not too big, not too small; just right. Great food and great service at a reasonable price.
This place definitely fits the bill. It appears small on the outside, but I was surprised at how spacious it was inside. Eveything and appeared to be very clean. I was greeted multiple times before and after being seated. While I was eating, I witnessed one of the staff exclaim about how this little girl was growing up so fast and then she have the little girl a hug. You can tell that the staff at this restaurant are genuine.
The menu was quite plain and had a small binder clip used to hold a couple extra sheets describing some of the specials that were available. I decided to order a french toast combination with ham and a side of grits. Food came out fast, was hot and extremely delicious! Some of the best french toast I've had in a while. Honestly, all the food was outstanding. The waitress came back often to check on me and refilled my coffee regularly.
Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. My only regret is not knowing that this place existed sooner. I give it a 4.5/5. I will definitely come...
