Always a terrible shopping experience here. I avoid going inside like the plague, even the pick up service is subpar. My last pick up order was only two items and I had to wait 45 minutes for it to come out despite being notified it was ready. Today I unfortunately decided to go in for waters and a rotisserie chicken. Gas and the $5 rotisserie chicken are literally the only reasons I have the membership (which increases in price every year with no improvement to service or extra perks) but I should cancel because I can never get one anymore. First things first, I notice an elderly lady in a scooter asking one of the 5 associates who are re-folding clothes in the middle of the day as if it's not going to be a mess at closing anyway, ask where the knives are to which the associate replied "I dont know I dont work in that department.", said nothing else, didn't even try to help. Second, there's ALWAYS a self appointed-executive director-weirdo, NOT AN EMPLOYEE, who makes themselves the imaginary line leader for when the chickens come out. Today there were two of these weirdos, grown men of course. They were instructing and harassing customers like me (a younger woman) who are minding their business just trying to figure out how long until the chickens come out or customers who are simply walking by to see if there's chickens even ready. There were maybe 4 or 5 people waiting, the over-the-top commotion wasn't necessary nor will it ever be. Again, Sam's Club, you've got two grown men, clucking and hollering at your customers who are spending their money at this location, I can't make this crap up. I quietly walk away because I didn't want to wait, especially around those people, one of them follows me as I browse through the meat section, giving up his precious spot in the imaginary line, to offer to "claim" a chicken for me. I declined the gesture obviously, because not only did it make me uncomfortable to be followed but like everyone else, I'd like to pick out my own bird having seen it come out of the oven or from the counter to me directly, not from a strangers hands or cart. It's simple, implement a ticket system. Customer takes a ticket, when the product comes out you wait for your number to be called, imagine that. Third, the store is packed with so much merchandise and organized like a maze making it difficult to get around others and actually browse/shop around. Finally, to top it off they got rid of all the cash registers for only a handful of self check out stations. I feel like an idiot for paying to shop here and I know this review won't do anything but receive an automatic reply from the company about how my experience matters which is bs because they keep making the store worse. I'm really just putting this here as a warning to other young women who go to this location, if your usual preference is to bring a man with you so you'll be left alone while you shop, I recommend that here. This is not the first review posted about how women do not feel safe shopping at this location. I would tell you to do better but at this point I just want you to do something, because this place sucks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited today on my way in to work for our office. They are supposed to open the doors at 8 -- before Covid I believe they opened at 7 but I usually dont go during the morning so I could be wrong. It was 5 -10 minutes after 8 before anyone opened the doors with a line of people outside waiting and upset. Some like myself were at that point pushing into time for work.. and as a small business, 5-10 minutes can make a huge difference. Once we were in, I got my items and went to the front to check out and there wasn't even one single cashier on a register, it was all self checkout. When I go in the afternoons they usually have some cashiers on registers and then self checkout is an option as well. So I took my loaded flatbed cart to self checkout. I went to have my receipt scanned and checked as I was leaving and two associates plus I assume maybe customers or other associates from the overnight stock crew were rummaging through a basket of what appeared to be damaged products that were up front at the exit door and were taking the things they wanted out of it. The woman started to come over and scan my receipt and then returned and went back to the basket. When she canned my stuff it came up that I double scanned the chicken sandwiches and missed the other item. I had to haul my entire flat bed over to member services and wait for someone to come because there was no one at the desk. after a minute or two someone appeared and handled the issue. I was not impressed with the entire process this morning of entering this store or having to scan all of my own items. I worked at another Sam's in the area 20 years ago and we never would have been allowed to open the doors late nor rummage through a basket as damaged items and packaging were put in the break room for the employees and there was always someone on the flat bed register as we used to have to move every single item from one flat bed to another to ensure our hands touched everything and nothing was missed. Piss poor customer service today. No apologies from the staff for the delay in opening the doors. Ill go to another location or just take my business elsewhere because Costco and BJs are right down the street if they do not value their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have shopped here for 10 years and overall have had an overall decent experience. Greeters are fine, tire shop was quick, checkout is decent with the industry standard congestion during prime times, but be careful with the optical department. I have ordered a few things from them and each time picking them up or having the lenses installed is interesting. Once I brought in two similar but clearly different glasses frames to have the new lenses installed, and somehow the two ladies working the counter mixed up the old, new, rights and lefts, so they had trial and error involving juggling 8 lenses.
Also the prescription sunglasses change fit from the samples when actual RX lenses are installed spreading them open wider for a larger head, and the color/shade of the lenses are different from the sample and what I was told/expecting. When I questioned the 2 differences to Peggy I was told "that it's is hard to explain the optics to someone who doesn't know about them" and that is simply the way they are, take it or leave it.
I would definitely challenge Peggy explaining mechanical shapes, features, or properties and explaining them to someone who is even not-mechanically inclined, not to mention her listening skills, speech, and customer service attitude.
I arrived at 6:30pm, 30 minutes before optical department closes, to pick up my order and was informed at 6:40 while she was trying to avoid properly addressing my question, that she needed to get ready to leave because she has a life other than the store, and turned down other customers politely waiting 20 minutes before she was supposed to close, citing " I have a life other than the store, sorry."
Store shopping is decent, go elsewhere for optical and find people who will put in a little...
