Summary: Small place, with great service and really good food.
My wife heard good things about this place and we decided to go out with a friend for dinner. The place is smaller, and there was quite a crowd when we went. Service was fantastic. Food came out steaming hot and we had ordered a wide variety of things.
There really isn't an atmosphere. It's pretty bare bones except for a TV and poster explaining the story of how the restaurant came to be. With it being so small, sound can be an issue if it's crowded. The chairs were really comfortable though. We didn't use the bathroom so I can't comment on how they were, but the rest of the place seemed really clean despite it being the end of the day.
I had the Lamb Chettinad with Roti with medium spiciness. The curry was thick, and tasted great. The lamb was well done, but not chewy or dry. I'll be having it again when I go. I got a lot more Roti than I thought, and it was really good too. Not dry at all, and great with the curry.
My wife had the desi chicken mild and she really enjoyed it. I will say that you need to keep an eye out for bones in the chicken, especially if your child is having this as the sauce was so thick you couldn't easily see them in the chicken. The chicken was really good, and not overcooked or dry. She also had the tomato curry leaf soup that she really liked, and a mango lassi. I've only had lassi once before and it was thicker than I had before but it was good. Definitely tasted like a tangy yogurt drink, so if you're into that go for it. She seemed to like it but was talking about the chicken more.
I can't speak for my friend's chicken tikka bowl but she ate the whole thing and she's a tiny woman. She also had Nimbu Pani, which is like a lemonade, but I can't put my finger on how it was different. Still very good though. She really liked the Samosa.
I got the Amul Cheese Garlic naan and loved it. I'd definitely recommend getting naan with your meal.
All and all, it was fantastic food despite it being crowded and a little cramped. I'll be checking them out for take out in the...
