11/22/2023 I had the pleasure of meeting my mother and brother up here for lunch on Wednesday afternoon the day before Thanksgiving. I think it was about 1:45pm when we arrived. There were still some folks in there eating lunch, however we had no problem grabbing a table right away.
Our service was immediate and one of several young ladies who visited the table stopped by and took our drink orders. She came back a few minutes later with our drinks and then took our lunch order. I had a bacon cheeseburger and small fry (of course I did). Mom had a BBQ sandwich and small fry and my brother had the Just Chill'in burger which is a cheeseburger with chili on it, and he also had chili cheese fries. We added a order of onion rings as an app.
It took I'd say about 15 minutes for our orders as there was a big order in front of ours. The meals came out to perfection. My burger was slightly pink in the middle and tasted great. I heard no complaints from anyone. Our server and another one kept checking on us regularly and topping off our drinks. We were offered desert however we all declined. I had to get back to work and they had more shopping to do.
All in all is the meal I've come to expect from Surf Dogs and I'm looking forward to my next visit sometime soon.
6/20/2022 Happy to see Surf Dogs has returned to form. There were some dark days over the last couple of years when the restaurant was sold to a person that had no business running a restaurant. He ran the long standing staff off, and then ran the customers off with his half-cooked slop.
Sometime over the last year it was sold again and there's another set of new owners. It's a husband and wife and it's been a really nice turn around. I popped in there for lunch recently and like I said, it's been a nice return to form. Also some of the old staff is back, in fact the lady running the floor when I was there was one of them.
I brought a co-worker in and we ordered lunch. I had my standard, a bacon cheeseburger and fries. BTW, this is a hand made patty. The only difference I noticed were they were straight cut fries instead of the previous crinkle cut ones. The meal portion was spot on and I was comfortably full afterwards.
Prices are good as well, full meal of burger fries and drink came out to about $13 before the tip. I'm happy things have cleared up there and look forward to going again soon. It's hot out and a perfect time to stop and get a home...
Read moreI have eaten at surf dog’s one other time before this experience in the food was decent. It’s like any other hotdog hamburger joint nothing special there. But I will give them five stars when it comes to their ice cream selections, flavors, and options of how to eat ice cream. But today I had a very bad experience with surf dogs. I entered the store and was not greeted whatsoever. There were two other parties in the store at the time eating. I think there was only one person working the whole entire store besides the kitchen. I don’t blame the young lady as she should’ve been provided extra coworkers to help her during her shift it was obvious that she was struggling. And that’s why I tried to remain patient with her and stood at the counter waiting to either be greeted or asked if I need help. I waited probably about six minutes. And not One word was said to me, I completely understand that she is only one person doing the job that multiple people should be doing, but “I’m sorry I’ll be with you in just a moment” would’ve made me feel a little better about standing there like an idiot. I decided to just leave and make ice cream at home when the young lady was finished taking the tables order and cane around the register. I thought she was there to help me but she was ringing someone out. But i was standing less than a foot in front of her and still not a word was said. Like i previously said, i had no problem waiting. I just wanted to be acknowledged that i was even in the store. So i turned to walk out & as i was walking in an elderly couple walked in & was immediately greeted. Really? Lol with all this being said, i May go back one day and try my luck with the ice cream i was craving...but i advise you to hire more staff especially with it...
Read moreFirst, I would like to applaud the staff & owner for their continued excellent service. Second, I would like to say that I was also present on 12/31/20 at Surf Dogs when, “Richard” was waiting for a To-Go order. They were in fact pretty busy, a couple tables were taken but they had a HUGE amount of To-Go orders that were also being prepared. At the time there was one employee in the restaurant with 8 orders cooking by herself. That would be pretty overwhelming for anyone, especially with a rude & extremely hostile customer added to the mix. The owner was in fact there, he came in to help out. He was in no way drunk. As many times my children & I have been to Surf Dogs when the owner was there, he has never been drunk. As far as the cook is concerned...Anyone would cry when they’ve got someone screaming at them, dropping f bombs & being down right nasty. What “Richard” forgot to mention is how he threw hotdogs & a hot sausage across the counter in a TEENAGERS face, again cursing, being hostile & dropping f bombs. The KAREN he is speaking of is also, just a teenager... who he said to “you don’t know what the f you’re doing either”. Before you feed too much into “Richards” absolute disgrace of a review, I figured I would give my perspective as a customer who was present for this mans completely outrageous behavior. Surf Dogs always has been and will continue to be a family...
