I was excited to see anothe bubble tea place in Hampton Roads, and couldn't wait to try it out. I first went here for their soft opening, and the service and tea were subpar. However, I decided to give it another try and I went with my family. This time the drinks and service were so much better! It seems like they've gotten more into the swing of things now. The decor was cute and the staff was very helpful. The entire atmosphere was nice. (They also have free WiFi) During my most recent trip, the cafe was somewhat busy, with about 6 other customers there. However, we got all four of our drinks in under 15 minutes. I got Taro Black Milk Tea with tapioca pearls(regular sweetness, regular ice), and my mom and grandmother both got the Tap Tea with tapioca pearls(half sweetness, full ice). My 7 year old brother, who usually doesn't like these kinds of drinks, was wary. He once had a particularly bad experience with raw tapioca at Pho 79. The staff was very patient with him, and helped him decide what he wanted. The cafe offers some samples of their most popular teas, and he decided to try the mango green tea. He instantly fell in love with it! He decided to get it with lychee jelly(regular sweetness, regular ice), and said that it was "one of the best drinks [he] ever had." My mom, grandmother, and I all liked our drinks, but they were a little bit too sugary. I would recommend going down a level from your usual sweetness. The place offers a wide variety of teas and toppings, all with customizable amounts of sugar and ice. While the drinks weren't as good as some places with a ton of boba tea shops( like New York), they were still pretty good and are one of the top in Hampton Roads. The prices were reasonable and they offer various discounts as well. One thing that stood out to me is the staff. All of them were extremely friendly and respectful. The employees here are some of the best I've ever encountered. Tapioca Go is pretty similar to Kung Fu Tea, and I personally prefer the drinks at Kung Fu Tea a little bit more. However, the prices here are a bit lower and it has more variety if you're searching to try new things. I liked it here and...
Read moreI can't get enough of this place. I haven't gotten a drink I haven't liked and the staff is so friendly. They give really generous samples that change daily and are really patient if you're new and trying to figure things out. My husband, who is typically not a tea drinker at all, loves coming here and has found quite a few drinks he loves. If you really just aren't in the mood for any kind of tea, they also have other drinks (my kids love the mango yogurt drink). I have tried other boba shops in the area and can definitely say that this one tastes the best. The only issue I have had is that it can sometimes take a really long time depending on the time and staffing. We came right at opening one time and it took close to 30 minutes to get our drinks because they needed to make a fresh batch of tea. I'm thinking that was just a fluke though because it's the only time we've had to wait that long. It was worth the wait though! My go to drink is the winter melon milk tea with snow cream. You can...
Read moreThis is the best bubble tea place in Chesapeake. Maybe itâs the only one. Tapioca go has a nice selection of different drinks that you can get with or without boba. Some of the specialty drinks are amazing, but itâs sad to see them leave the menu. I am pretty basic and always get the milk tea with boba. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the actual tapioca is sometimes a little hard. Itâs good, but Kung Fu Tea is slightly better in my opinion.
Please note that most of these drinks are very sweet so itâs a good idea to get half sugar or 25% sugar.
This place also serves a limited food menu, but I have not tried. Definitely get the bubble tea.
The ambiance here is very nice and I would enjoy hanging out here for a little bit. They even have some board games you can play while you enjoy your refreshment. The decorations are Pokémon everywhere! One thing they could do better is wipe off the tables every once in a while. They get sticky.
