Worst hotel stay ever. Booked 2 rooms, paid $1500. This hotel is no way a 3-star one. It’s dirty everywhere. Furniture in the lobby are leather-like material, and they are very dirty, clearly rarely cleaned or wiped. We booked rooms with free breakfast and the table where we had to sit to wait and eat was dirty, we had to call someone to wipe it clean, and even then she didn’t do a good job. We stayed from Saturday to Wednesday and not one single time the housekeeper stepped foot in our rooms to clean, despite seeing a housekeeper roaming around the hallway with her cart. We were told full cleaning day was Tuesday and was asked if we wanted our room cleaned; we answered “yes” but the housekeeper never showed up, not even to replace towels and rags. We only had clean towels on the first night. The second day, housekeeper removed dirty towels from room, left them outside the door, and never came back to pick them up. When we returned to the room after a full day of activities, we were greeted by dirty towels by our door. We were told someone was coming to pick them up, that someone never showed. This happened again. We had to go to the front desk to get clean towels and toilet paper. Our trash accumulated and we had to take them out ourselves for fear of being charged extra for leaving the room dirty, even if their housekeeping service should be taking care of that. You never know. Room doesn’t come with an iron but a steamer that is very inconvenient to use. We are working on getting refunded for our stay as we didn’t receive anything for the amount we paid. I understand being short-staffed but to charge guests $1500 and no service except for a mediocre bed to sleep on… imagine having to get your own towels and toilet paper from the front desk. When we checked out, the front desk asked us about our stay. We told her all of this. She said she was sorry, and was visibly embarrassed. She said she would have done anything about it but we have to go through Priceline to make things right as we booked our stay on their site. Went through Priceline and were told to go back and contact the hotel as it is a hotel issue. A total rip-off.

First off I'm not one to leave bad reviews but this time I had to. I was HIGHLY disappointed with everything during my stay at Aloft Chesapeake. So it started ok with the front desk greeting me, a plus, then it went downhill from there... when I got to my room at quick glance it looked ok but when I started moving around the room that changed, it turned into a tacky room environment... There was NO dresser/drawers for my clothes which wasn't cool, the desk (both desk) in the room had dust all over them, the TV was a nice size, but I had to search for the remote control which I did find later under the bed. Smh!!. There was NO microwave which surprised me. (Most hotels have at least a microwave.) NO welcome pamphlet, NO tv guide. Also there was a stain on the carpet covered by the ONE and only trash can. (As if they were just trying to hid/cover it up) NO trash bags, no ice bucket. The mini fridge and coffee maker were good. The bathroom part was tiny and the sliding door was heavy and kept getting stuck. It didn't even have a fan. The shower was nice though. The room walls were thin, you could hear everything (and I mean everything) going on in the other rooms making it hard to hear the tv, or even sleep. There were kids running up and down the hall every night we were there. (Which was VERY annoying). And that was just the room part of it. Now the gym they had was nice, good equipment to use. I did enjoy little workout while I was there. The pool though, well kinda disappointed in that too. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, the water looked green and nasty. Definitely didn't get in the pool this time. Oh and I almost forgot, they say free wifi but I definitely got charged for using the wifi, $5 each time.. Parking was ok. Elevators were also ok. Small space for a pricey place. The pictures on the website don't match what you'll see if you stay.. I'm most likely NOT going to go back there again. I feel like I totally wasted my money and a vaca on this place. Smh!!!

We recently stayed at the Aloft Chesapeake from a Sunday night to Wednesday morning. The gal who checked up in, Abby was very sweet. The lobby did always smell like gas and so did the elevators. I was told breakfast was free because we were members but when I took my 4 year old daughter down they said it was a $10 fee. Then when checking again was told it was free and then again when we arrived back that even said it was $10. So we ended up not having any breakfast any of the days we were there. Room could use a better cleaning as well. Air filter said it needed changed, ac made a loud noise all night and vents were covered in dust and hair on the shower floor. Once the rooms are cleaned, it seems as though the door is left open for the new customers. Being a young mom with a 4 year old left me very uneasy having to check my room before entering to make sure no one was hiding. Only decaf coffee in the room. Toliet does not have much pressure so doing your business in the bathroom is hard. The door to the bathroom is very very heavy to slide so no privacy. There is also no bathtub. Having a small child and no bath tub is a challenge. Toliet paper holder is broken and always fell on the floor. Shower leaked and left the bathroom floor very wet. Bed is made with a fitted sheet, down comforter inset and then a top sheet. Very strange. Overall not happy at all for what we paid but we had no where else to go. I asked for a small discount and the young man at the desk didn't seem to thrilled with that option so we just left.

First and foremost I would like to say that the staff was very polite and kind. The first problem I encountered was when I checked in I got a king bed and it was supposed to be two queen. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful and did switch over me to a 2 queen bedroom easily. The second problem we encountered was the elevators were extremely slow both days we were there and it took a long time just to get from the 5th to the first floor. Then I got switched over to the two queen bedroom where I found there was no mini fridge. I did call down to the front desk and request one they said they were going to have maintenance bring it up and then never showed I called two or three other times after that and no answer. At that time my husband had to go downstairs and get 2 bags of ice to put our food on and our water and what not....The door from the bathroom into the sink area would not open and closed which left your bathroom door wide open with no privacy also the remote would not work unless you pressed it 5 to 10 times and really hit the button hard if it would even work at all kept having to get up to change the channels and turn it on and off. The beds are not very comfortable and the mattress slid back and forth every time you get in and out of the bed the mattress would move off the platform. Then want to have coffee in the morning and the coffee maker would not work so I unplugged it and plugged it into the one on the bathroom counter and it still would not work so I had to go downstairs to get coffee. The gentleman at the food stand was very polite who was making the sandwiches and whatnot but requested a breakfast sandwich and wrap and it took over 20 minutes for him to make them and we were the only ones down there. Very nice set up as far as a hotel goes but when we went to the pool to go swimming there was absolutely no towels at the pool had to go to the front desk , also we could not get into the workout room with our key it would not work. So I guess as far as a state goes it is a beautiful hotel nicely set up very cute and modern but too many issues went wrong will not stay there again. Also they offered two free drinks at the bar downstairs and when we went to get them it was such a hassle had to go all the way back upstairs to get ID and we are in our forties and then had to fill out a form and show the key to the front desk and bring that form back to the bar to get a free drink not really a complimentary drink when you have to go through all that. Both of the women at the front desk were extremely polite and very courteous and nice and so was the gentlemen will be checked in. All of the staff was very much on point just the hotel itself was not what I expected for the price...

Overpriced, you will not receive the value of your dollar here, the mattresses was hard as a rock, the pool water was gray, they had unhelpful customer service. My stay with the Aloft Chesapeake hotel and the resulting conversations with Marriot customer service have left me never, ever, wanting to deal with any hotel in the Marriot family. First, when I made my reservation, I requested adjoining rooms, next door rooms, or across the hall rooms. When I arrived the manager informed me that it's just a "request" and they have no obligation to hold the rooms we reserved. I was speaking with her and said that I did not appreciate the mistake the hotel made, she very brusquely informed me that they had not made a mistake and were unapologetic about putting 2 rooms on completely different floors. At that point, I paid for ONE room and my sister paid for the 2nd room, instead of the 2 queen beds we had reserved we went with 1 room with a king. My kids went to go play in the pool to find that the water was gray and disgusting. The beds felt as if they had put the sheet directly onto the box spring. As hard as the beds was it may have been more comfortable to sleep on the floor. In the morning I found that I had been charged twice for the room I paid for. After ensuring that my receipt showed only 1 room and my sister's receipt showed 1 room I went downstairs to find out why I had been charged 2 times. The front desk staff was totally unhelpful and told me a manager would be calling me after 3 on Sunday. I called customer service but they informed me that the hotel would have to directly refund my money. I waited patiently until the next day with no call from the manager. I called the hotel back and the management was supposedly "in a meeting" but would call me back. I called Marriot customer service again, they assured me that a manager would call me. No one did. So for 2 days I had $246.10 tied up and unavailable to me with no communication from hotel staff. No one at the hotel or with customer service ever even apologized to me for the inconvenience. They also made no apologies for the mistake they made by ignoring my reservation to be put in rooms near each other or for the uncomfortable bed. All in all, I will never again, choose a Marriot hotel. We travel frequently all over the U.S and have stayed in numerous hotels. I have always enjoyed my stay in Hilton hotels and have never had any problems like I encountered this weekend. We left the hotel Sunday at 11am, it is currently, 2:50 pm on Tuesday and I have still not received any call from the hotel manager, despite numerous promises from front desk staff and customer service...

I checked in the aloft in Chesapeake on October 19, 2023 and checked out on Sunday the 23rd. The hotel was okay quiet and clean but I left my purse in the room on Friday morning and Saturday morning to go down to their lobby for their breakfast. I didn't stay long I bring my breakfast back to the room. I took my wallet but I left my purse. I had a bracelet box with a pair earrings a ring and a watch. Saturday as I was getting dressed to go to a wedding, that's what I noticed my watch was missing. I didn't report it at the time cuz I wanted to be sure that I didn't leave it at home. Mind you I had to do not disturb sign the whole time because I wiped and cleaned down my room and I didn't want anyone in it. I went back home Sunday I looked for my watch and is not in my house. I called the hotel Monday to tell them that my watch is missing out of my purse. They transfer me to the housekeeping supervisor which I had to leave a message because she wasn't in. So on Tuesday I didn't hear from her I called back up to the hotel and I talked to the manager. I talked to The manager Mrs Hunt. She told me that she could look in the system to see whose key card has been coming in my room. And that she'll call me back in a half an hour. I didn't hear from her that day so I called her back again on Wednesday. She stated the reason why she didn't call me back and she was waiting on the housekeeping supervisor and I asked her again about seeing who used the key card? Miss Hunt status she had to check with the technician. She also stated that sometimes things fall up under the mattress and there's a guest in the room now and he is checking out today and she will go up and move the mattress and see if it had fell behind that. The manager stated that they've never had a problem before about someone stealing. She never called me back and she probably never will. The hotel is not going to take responsibility for their employees stealing from the guest and tell there was a safe I wish I had of used it but I thought I was just going downstairs and coming back and I didn't see anyone in the hallway for didn't even know I wasn't in the room. It wasn't a very expensive watch cuz I have about 30 of them but was my favorite watch and it was mines. I will share this with my social media also My watch wasn't lost it was stolen out of my purse and it doesn't do any good to contact management cuz you give me the runaround and claim to call me back and ever do so that apology is not accepted. I didn't lose my watch my watch was stolen out of my purse. It's been a year and I'm still...
