Beware!
I'm an employee at the Dollar Tree Corporate Office, and I was invited to attend an after work gathering to celebrate the end of project along with co-workers and a couple representatives from a partner business. It was a "the first drink is on us, come join the celebration of our milestone" gathering.
The Chesapeake location is right outside of our office so it was extremely convenient. A co-worker and I arrived first so we proceeded to the bar and went ahead and each ordered a drink. Shortly after, we could see more of the invited individuals coming down the sidewalk so I asked the bar tender to close me out. I wasn't planning on staying long and wasn't concerned about paying for my (and my co-worker's) single drink. I closed out my tab and when the others arrived a server directed everyone to a set of tables. We moved from the bar to the tables as others began to arrive. The hosts spoke to the servers about who would be responsible for the charges, etc.
I stayed for about 20 more minutes and chatted with the team and our partners, then bid everyone a good evening and headed home after consuming maybe half of my drink.
It was a nice time until I received an email from my Credit Card Company asking if I had intended to leave a 754% tip. I spent the next several days trying to reach the Manager of the location to correct this mistake. I eventually emailed all the information and asked that the entire amount over my original charge be refunded.
I received a response several days later from the Manager Grayson Ring, explaining that some individuals left without paying and there seemed to be some confusion as to who was responsible for their tabs. Someone decided arbitrarily to put all outstanding charges on my credit card. She did not offer to refund any of the amount that was charged to me without my knowledge or consent.
I followed up with her by phone and let her know that I expected these charges to be reversed immediately, but I would reach out to the "hosts" and have them contact her to resolve the outstanding bill.
Within 20 minutes they had contacted her and tried to take care of the outstanding amount. However she didn't refund me the full amount. Instead she only refunded a $119.84 on a $173.95 bill, of which I was only responsible for $20.38.
After several additional calls, where I was told that this was basically "our fault" I finally received a message that an additional amount (still short of what should be refunded) should be forthcoming. Now I'm going to be forced to dispute the charge on my credit card because they refuse to issue the refund for everything that wasn't part of my order.
I was at this establishment for 30 minutes total. I've now spent more than 8 times that amount of time trying to get this business to refund what amounts to fraudulent charges. This is even after going the extra mile to get them in touch with those willing to cover them.
I highly recommend avoiding this place completely and if you do go, be sure to get a printed copy of your bill and check it against any credit card charges. You never know who else's drinks/food they might...
Read moreWe went there on a Sunday night with 7 people. We wanted to get a few beers and a bite to eat. We sat down and politely asked that they turn down the music, it was rap music but I don’t think we cared so much about that it was loud. We wanted to discuss our plans for the next day with my nephew going to his assignment at the navy base. Kayla was our server very nice and try to accommodate so she turned it down. We noticed a few minutes later the volume was up again. We asked her what happened she said the manager turned it back up. We asked why the reply was baffling “because the people at the bar don’t want us to hear their conversation”. Really we had 7 people and could care less about someone’s conversation. Come to find out the two people at the bar one was definitely an employee. He then got up proceeded to sing the song playing very loudly in a mocking fashion. I mean seriously so unprofessional. I have been in the hospitality business close to 35 years so I know the business very well. You lost future customers because of this unprofessional behavior. I know being in the business repeat business is the utmost importance. So I am warning people do not go there it was such a poor experience. The manager had no ba@@@ to come up to us and explain to us. So permanently lost customers. We would have spent more money and had a few more beers but we could not get out of there fast enough. I am sure there will be excuses for the behavior but perception is reality to...
Read moreI went there for lunch because i was over in the area. I got the dog bones. They were really good, but it did take 4 napkins to soak up the grease. Then I tried the vegan brat. It wasn't terrible, but was very dry, and the bun was a little over toasted. Bartender recommended the tots...spot on, they were probably some of the besr I have ever had, but the portions....so small. I had the stout. It was pretty good.
Service - Awesome. Bartender was really nice and helpful. He checked on me several times. Food - If the cheesy bread (Dogbones) wasn't so incredibly greasy (there was literally a pool in the center and underneath) I would say it was great, but that really detracted. Sorry I didn't get a pic. The Brat $14 for a small brat and no side??? Casualt pint has the drunken brat with Fries for $11. That was dry and really over priced. Tots were the saving grace today.
If you are coming for pizza and beer, you should do ok. But, i definitely would not recommend any sandwiches or brats that don't come with a side. Just way to overpriced. Apps....roll the dice. once I sopped up the grease, they were good. I had a pretzel at the other location, it was good....guessing it's the same food here. I had 2 beers the dog bones and a brat with tots and it was $50. $50 for lunch. That was...
