Everyone should dine at the Aztec Authentic Mexican Restaurant! It has Mexican dishes for every palate: meat eaters, vegetarians, and gluten free/celiac disease diners alike. I love the owner thought to make a special gluten free menu, filled with options that people with celiac disease can eat. Even that menu includes vegetarian options, which is a hard combo to accommodate. The steak in the street tacos was juicy and well flavored. The chicken in the street tacos was nicely seasoned and very tasty. The fish came with fresh radish slices, green tomatillo sauce, and a lime for each taco. The tacos came topped with freshly washed chopped white onion and cleanly minced cilantro. Yum. I asked for more tomatillo sauce and the owner was generous in offering another serving. The rice was red/seasoned Mexican rice and the beans were black. The rice and beans combo side was very tasty, topped with white crumbly cheese for more dimension. Gluten eaters can enjoy the burrito, which came covered in a red sauce. Stuffed with meat, rice, beans, and cheese (I think that’s right), this dish is sure to be a fan favorite. Drinks were just as on point: Mexican Coke with sugar cane sugar and hibiscus/Jamaica with and without sugar — without sugar is hard to find and always what I get if I can. Rare treat to find it! The gluten free menu items are made safe and free of cross contamination. The chips are made in a separate fryer for gluten free only. And when the owner brought the chips out, he brought one for the gluten eaters and one for gluten free eaters. Top notch! I highly recommend this place if you’re in New Jersey, or if you’re driving by, add this to your itinerary for a tasty,...
Read moreBOYCOTT THIS HORRIFIC BUSINESS! The unhinged owner does not belong in Chester among so many delightful, dignified establishments. My poor mother made a reservation for 17 people weeks ago for a birthday / early mother's day dinner was forced to put down a deposit to hold the table. When family arrived (many traveled from out of town) there was only space for 13 or 14 at the table and they refused to let us use another table to sit comfortably - claiming they were fully booked with other reservations (lies, a few parties came in after us as walk-ins and the restaurant was not fully occupied the entire time we were there). We had people hanging off the corners of the table in extra chairs with no room to eat or drink. When we tried to seat 4 of us at a small two top nearby the owners (presumably miserable husband and wife) literally came out and shrieked at us like maniacs and threatened TO CALL THE POLICE! Never in my life have I been so mortified and disrespected as I was trying to enjoy a birthday celebration at Aztec. The way they treated my mother and guests was monstrous. The party we planned for weeks was ruined, with a damper put on the evening. If we didn't have so many people I would have happily walked out the door. Not to mention the food was bland and half of my family is sick after eating here. PLEASE DRIVE THIS DISGRACE OUT OF TOWN to make room for a deserving business....
Read moreThe owner Alex has a lack of professionalism, ethic and courtesy. I had never encounter with such a disrespectful person. Wanting to fight a costumer in your restaurant its just the biggest disappointment and l wonder if you would give this kind a treatment to a white person as you do to Mexicans we are suppose to support each other but sadly ring it up three different transactions was so much to ask for and giving a lecture to my family members on how much of a bother this was and expected them to stay quiet and apologize for the inconvenient but since that was not the response you threaten to fight and insult them what a shame on you. This is not even a staff member it was the owner himself how dare you. Where is your costumer service? I have lived in this town and use to work in a local Hair Salon for 12 years and l can not tell you how many times l recommended your restaurant over all the Mexican restaurants in town biggest mistake! I ever made.Be aware of ordering a take out and wanting to split payment cash /debit this is such a inconvenient for the owner. And it could end up being called names and threaten....
