El Monte Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Chester

I came in here to purchase a bag of whole bean coffee. I really like how this place is away from the main road and is really quiet. You could definitely bring your laptop in here and work or even sit at one of the outdoor tables and be distraction free. Pretty fair pricing for fresh roasted coffee and the quality was good, the only thing I wasn't too fond of was that the coffee isn't individually packaged in bags, it is stored in large containers and then bagged when you buy it so you have no idea when it was roasted - not important to many people but if you're really into coffee like me you might care to know that. Updated 7/16/2024: The best coffee in the LV, Chester, Mendham area is even better. The look of the store is updated, the coffee and staff are as excellent as ever, and the delicious food options have been expanded. My favorite coffee shop anywhere.

They roast their own beans and the result is very smooth yet bold tasting coffee. The iced coffee is particualrly outstanding. There are also delicious homemade and bought-in baked goods.

This is the best coffee shop in the multiverse. I drink coffee often and so of course I don't always have access to the sweet nectar that is El Monte. I am then forced to torture myself through cups of drab drip drinks that leave more to be desired. The beans of El Monte are roasted on-site by none other than Jorge, Columbian born Java genius who owns the shop with his wife Blanca who compliments the coffee with her bright welcoming personality and delicious home made empanadas.
