Owner told me my CC was declined, I gave him a new card to run through paid and left. After walking to DQ I looked at my bank account because I couldn't figure why the first card would have been declined, it was my debit card. Sure enough, I see NY Pizza charge coming out of my bank account. I walk back to show the owner and ask him to refund one of the charge cards. He refused to do so. I called Chase Visa while in NY Pizza and spoke with a rep. he was there to verify with the owner that NY Pizza sale had gone through, so had my Peapack Gladstone bank Visa charge. I showed the owner my bank account with the NY Pizza draft coming out of it, I had it right in front of them and Chase Visa on the phone, they still refused to credit me back one of the charges. I now have to dispute one with the CC companies. Basically, they charged me twice and I have to jump through hoops because they deny it, even with the proof right in front of them. I did call the police, incase this is a scam, the police have not had previous reports, but be aware, people may not have noticed in the past!!!!! Awful customer service, will not go back or recommend. The owner asked me for a copy of my drivers license, why? I paid twice, $108 for 3 pies, a few slices and a pitcher of soda, nice! Pizza is mediocre at best, Dicola's in Washington NJ and Dimola's in Clinton is really good. The crust here was a bit cardboard...
Read moreJust came from this place had only been there once before a few years ago and I recalled the pizza was good. This time however I am very dissatisfied. I ordered a large pie well-done with meatball and onion. The pie came out undercooked and the crust was no less than 2 to 2-1/2 inches wide around the entire diameter of the pie. Meaning, I received less cheese, sauce, and toppings than you might even get on a small pizza ! I showed one of the workers who shrugged it off and said no one’s ever complained before and sometimes they come out that way, but none of his pizzas on display in the glass case had a crust wider than an inch ! So I know it was just a way to short change me and skimp on ingredients! Feeling Gypped ! An empty apology is just that. Why would I feel motivated to try your...
Read moreMoving along the NJ Pizza Tour in Morris County brings us to New York Pizza in Chester. Chef Shabo could not be nicer or more accommodating. The place was clean and staff was nice. The slice was an above average slice where the crust spoke to you first. Cooked perfectly, then the Grande Cheese gives you the best Pizza Cheese and finally the sauce. Would have loved to taste more of the sauce to go with the cheese and the crust. You can tell Shabo takes a lot of pride in his products and places a high value on his customers. This was one of the best in Chester, see where they will Rank in the Morris County rankings. Worth stopping for sure, the speciality pizzas looked great, especially the sicilian. Great Job New York...
