Chester Diner — Restaurant in Chester

It was my first time ever visiting and I hope next time is better. I want to start off by saying our server Jamie was great, came to visit her because she is a wonderful person and one of my favorite servers. When I first arrived who ever the hostess was needs to check her attitude. If someone isn’t comfortable in a booth seat, there is no need whatsoever to start rolling your eyes then through a tantrum like a toddler. She puts her hands up and said “sit wherever then” and stormed into the kitchen. I sat down and thought oh boy. Our service from Jamie was impeccable. I didn’t not get a picture of it because I devoured it but the Matzah Ball soup was delicious! My mother loved her dish. I thought my Cuban Panini was dry overall; the ham, turkey, not enough cheese and there was only a few drops of mustard. I’ll have to try something different next time. Once we were done with walked up to pay our bill, and the hostess was giving my mom dagger eyes. I think she was entirely unprofessional and shouldn’t be the first person you see walking into that diner. I will be back to try more...

!!TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! A group of 8 (including myself) waited an HOUR to get our orders taken.

After notifying staff 2 times after the 45 minute mark that we were ready to order, we were met with rude attitude and were ignored. We were patient enough but after seeing that other large groups in the restaurant that CAME AFTER US were eating their food, we spoke up respectfully. The waitress (an older lady with brown hair and glasses) was incredibly rude and yelled at my friend to speak up while telling her order but was so kind to the other people in the restaurant. We came in at 9:40 as 7, got our drinks then were 8 people by 9:50. Our orders finally were taken around 10:45.

On the other hand, the older men at the pay counter were very kind. It's a shame that our waitress couldn't reciprocate the politeness we gave her. Overall, The food was average and we all left unsatisfied after the experience. We have never had worse service and will never come back to this...

I have visited tons of diners in my lifetime and this is certainly not my favorite one. While sentimental part of me wants to be nice and feel bad for an elderly waitress who tried her best but still managed to mess up the order - i must be fair… so

Owner or manager (not sure) kept smiling but then sat three tables away from us with his phone and had a very loud personal conversation…. Food came out super fast and wasnt terrible but wasnt best NJ diners can offer..

Nachos supreme were smaller than typical size at the diners while pricier than most. Overall (must be Chester taxes) prices were about 25% higher than most diners..

Menu is smaller in options (which is not bad or good) than most diners that have a menu - size of encyclopedia.
